I'm up to $490.34.

This does not include the original games I got (HL2, CS:S, Orange Box, and Ep. 1 which I got before Orange Box was out), so I really should be at about $130 more than that. Hehe, after I bought Orange Box I never spent more than $45 for a game through Steam.

I don't think there is a way to see the sum of all the games bought through Steam, but if you put all the purchases in Excel you can sum it up -> =sum("highlight all boxes").

My average spent on a video game (taking out the original purchases and keeping in mind that a couple of purchases were bundles) is $10.88.

Nice I like this from the DD gamer calculator!

Worth =/= Spent. That's the problem with steam calculator, the games are only using the money the game costs NOW, not when you bought them, so it isn't entirely accurate. Anyways, it says $2138.83

I would be interested to see the amount of money I actually spent and the worth that is shown on Steamcalculator, but it won't work for me. I entered in the right 17-digit code and it comes up with my name, but it says I have 0 games for 0 dollars...

Either way, I think it's funny that all of the numbers we posted could easily be 6-10 times higher if we bought those when they came out or weren't on sale. I've had Steam since its inception, but didn't really start buying digital games until 2008. I was one of those that was against not having a physical copy at first, but am so glad now that I changed my mind. I rarely buy physical copies now and my wallet is definitely thankful!

If you are really bored you could just go under account and add up every transaction you have made.

$1111.21 for me it seems but that if I have gotten all of the games at full price which I only did for a few games so I spent way less than that.

Steam calculator only shows the value of the games you own, based upon current prices. So it's hard to say how much most people spend on steam beacuse of sales.

I did (see first post). I used Excel so it was real fast and easy. I was saying that the Steamcalculator website didn't work for me to calculate the WORTH.

Never spent a dime directly through Steam. I only use it when retail purchases require it or when a game I purchase elsewhere activates through Steam (eg, Humble Bundles). I don't believe in DRM-infused digital purchases. Either remove the DRM completely or give me a physical copy.

Meet? That's not how it works, all it is is that you make an account on the forum, come regularly and check the giveaway thread each day. Anyways, i don't think he does it anymore. Looking on his profile he's an IT infrastructure engineer. His computer(s) is an absolute beast, i think he has 3 monitors, 4 7970's and 64 GB RAM. Yeah, this guy is loaded. And to him, buying games is no longer entirely based on playing them; Collecting is his hobby.

2934,94 *broken euro sign*, no idea what I really spent, since lots of the games I have were at higher-way higher prices than they are now, I also have got quite a few indie bundles and I also got quite a few games on sales.

I estimate I have spent a total of $10,000 on video games and related stuff (like PC parts, books, gaming t-shirts) since I started gaming as a kid. Some of it was my own money, some of it was my parents'.

But strictly on video games themselves since 1999? Net resales, I'm thinking about $5,000.
