usually i spend 1000$ per year for my pc, recently i have been just randomly adding components such as a new video card (8800 just died all the sudden), but ill be doing a complete overhaul soon due to having to change motherboard in order to beable to install next gen ram/cpu components
in january i boght a 4850 512mb for my core 2 duo 2.13ghz rig. since then i stripped that card out of there and bought a i7 930 rig. all up including the GPU from earlier this year i spent about $1600AU.
Well, I just built my PC back in the beginning of May so I haven't really had time to upgrade it yet :P Assuming that building counts as upgrading though I've spent a little less than $2700 on it.

Was on a gaming notebook for my deployment to iraq and medical training, now that i'm going home I just dropped about 2200 on a new desktop rig. I dont know what i'm more excited about, seeing my wife again or getting some alone time with my latest pc hotrod. Just kidding, please dont tell my wife.
January - Windows 7 Home Premium - £90
Bought this in preparation for my next purchase below, and because I was sick of using XP.
February - 2GB OCZ Platinum XTC DDR2-800 - £40
Bought these sticks to add to the 2GB I had already, but the sticks were bad. OCZ just gave me new timings and voltages which didn't work, and then just ignored my emails. Obviously they just refused to believe they didn't work. Had no choice but to throw this RAM away, sell my old working sticks on eBay, and replace with...
March - 4GB Corsair XMS2 DDR2-1066 - £80.19
See above.
March - Corsair 750TX - £92.98
My OCZ 500W lasted little more than a year, then it just fried. Should have been plenty for my system. Replaced once again with Corsair, and I'll never buy OCZ again.
April - Linksys PCI Wireless-N Adapter - £33.98
The Netgear WG311 I had bought while running Windows XP was great, but with Windows 7 my 20Mbps connection slowed right down to dial-up speed. Grew impatient with Netgear and bought a new adapter.
Total - £337.15 ($488.02)
Well more of a new build although i'll be keeping my GTX 260 for awhile longer as I spent a bit more then I planned but got some real nice discounts.
HAF 932

Gigabyte X58A-UD3R mobo
