$600-800, maybe.

Well, that was from scratch.

No more than $1500, $5000 is a waste of money, and i hope solid_mario was just joking. Just don't buy one of those $1000+ intel quad-cores, waste of money. For $800 or so you could build one that would last you for several yrs. w/o upgrading, and even if you did upgrade it would most likely be your gpu.

Well in that case you'll need

CPU: $180-260

Motherboard: $80-150

Case: $80-120

Hard Drive: $60-100

DVD Drive: $30

These prices are approximations.

Out of curiosity, what components do you already have?

Infinity plus one-hundred.

But seriously. You could build a great rig that will last you for years for $600-800.

You think so? It would help if you told more about your components. And this belongs in PC Hardware Discussion.
