I've noticed a few times , after playing a game , I get the blue screen. I restart the pc and then everything is fine. Does this mean I'm in danger of hardware failure of some sort? I think it may be my hard drive. When I run a health check it's usually the one with warnings, or errors by it. How can I find out which component is possibly failing? Thoughts?

A blue screen can be anything from a temporary program or driver error (not really serious), to overheating problems (semi-serious), to failing RAM, mobo, or powersupply (very serious). From the sounds of it I would guess you might have an overheating problem if it happens after games.

have you overclocked at all?

I haven't got a BSOD in maybe 6 years. Any crashing is a bad thing.

No. Strange thing is that I did have it mildly o/c form 3.3ghz to 3.7ghz, mainly due to stock cooler. I decided to reapply thermal paste about a month ago, which I messed up big time! I purchased the cheapest kind and got what I paid for. My pc started beeping, letting me know the temps were over the safe limit, so I purchased some more thermal paste(much better kind), reapplied, and set my CPU back to stock settings. Everything is fine now and I really don't plan on o/c . I figured it could wait until I got a really could cooler. I have 2 6870s in crossfire and I don't really think the slight increase in o/c would be worth it right now.

Recommend a great cooler/fan for my CPU?

Like others have mentioned, it could be a number of things. If it happens inconsistently, I'd say it's hardware-related. If it happens mainly during gaming, it's either overheating or an insufficient PSU. I had a situation where the PC would inccreasingly get BSODs until it just wouldn't boot anymore. It was a failing PSU.

i have NZXT havik 140 it cold but i t hink a good cooler fan for him also could be that also if he find it in sales for 45.99$ AFTER MIR or Coolermaster Hyper 212+ EVO + 2x fan replacement for get optimal cooling but you oftend end up spending around 45$ doing so but you got cold setup enough for i5 2500k 4.5ghz w/e is setup

also you can check temp if you think it do that alway after video game end (overclocking issue) with Hwmonitor or Core temp (other program) and see what max temp technically unless a cpu is Extremely overclocked it should be stable even at 70C max temperature but in case it got all up to 75C there huge chance of instability

Yeah, I'm thinking of replacing it. That's one area where I skimped out. I purchased a 600watt Ultra power supply for $59 on tigerdirect. I've used 2 before then in my sons pcs and both worked fine, but they aren't pushing as much as I am. One has a Phenomx3 and a 6850, while the other is using a Athlonx2 4800, with a gtx460. I have 2 6870s, so maybe I'm straining my pwr supply more?

not usually very serious unless it happens repetatively.
