Back in the day World of warcraft was a game that everyone was talking about, the game had a sense of adventure, a sense of epicness, and even though the grind was some times repitive it was FUN

then one day the burning crusade came out, from then on the game went on decline, blizz tried to appeal to EVERY1, by doing this they have destroyed the fundamental building blocks of WoW. Exploration= out of the game, Epic warcraft lore =still in the game( but the lore SUCKS), sense of adventure = gone, fun = some of it is still there but it will never compare it the pre bc days

Why i say exploration, sense of adventure is gone? 5 man instances, just for one minute compare them, compare shattered halls to BRD, compare underbog to Maraudon, compare mana tombs to Dire maul. FACE IT almost all of the 5 mans in TBC are just narrow hallways with mobs jsut standing there and very little interesting lore to the dungeons. These 5 mans are boring, short, VERY VERY linear. There is no sense of adventure in these instances. Do any of you remeber your first time in BRD,L/U BRS, or Maraudon. I sure as hell do, these places were HUGE. Example is BRD, this place was a 4-7 hr instance, incredibly detailed, very big, challenging, many ways to complete this, it had a frickin raid insaide the instance. That my friend is adventure, exploration....

now with TBC no one does the best 5 mans in the game anymore

(Strathome), (dire maul) , (Scholomace), very fun, extremly detailed instances with GREAT LORE, but since the loot sucks you might as well skip the best instances in the game and go straight to the outland.

Why i say the lore sucks for us lore freaks, back in the day wen ragnaros , nerf, c'thun was out, these guys were EPIC, like look what ragnaros did to blackrock mountain, C'thun was a frickin old god and actually held their ground to the Titans. like these guys were epic, and i agree getting 40 guys in a raid party sucked but when you killed these guys man was the sense of accomplisment there, it felt like you actually saved azeroth. Now you get raid bossess like Grull, and lady vashj, and illidan. Ok i know some fot hese guys are a big part of warcraft, BUT HONESLTY BLIZZARD NOT MAKE A BETTER STORYLINE. Like to this day Why does the horde care if illidian is dead or not, just leave him alone hes alrdy being hunted by the burning legion. And why should we care about grull, what has he done to azeroth. Lady vashj is ok. The only raids that are fun is Kael thas(hats to blizzard for making him), and hyjal summit, and ZA. These raids were pretty decent. Hyjal summit was prolly the best raid in TBC.

like compare a frickin OLD GOD to a run away out cast?????old god is more interesting for sure

im not even gonna rant about the grind and the value of epic gear

Well guys, as much as i hate to say this WOTLK is not looking any better, when you can 10 man THE LICH KING, you know the epicness is gone, i mean for gods sake IT THE LICH KING, this guys they guys that defied the burning legion, completed owned illidan in its 1/2 weakened state, and your gonna give players an option TO 10 MAN HIM, just for this fight you should make him a frickin a full 40 man raid and challenging as hell.

The only good things about WOTLK is that blizzard is going back to awsome lore that warcraft fans love. were going back to fight the scourge XD

At the current state of things i would say WOTLK is prolly gonna be an improvement comapred ot TBC, but it will never compare to pre bc

Pre BC did anything BUT destroy WoW, Pre BC gave you a living, extremly detailed world of azeroth, Black rock mountian was just classic, the instant i walked in there i was just like wow how the hell did blizzard pull this off, same with western plaugelands and eastern plaugelands, and all the instances and raids within them. All the cities also gave the warcraft feeling, the first time i went into IF, i was liek holy sh*t

I think your just saying this cause you saw all of Pre BC and got a chance to live around it...I never did Scholomance, Strath, Dire Maul, I did a few BRD runs which I thought sucked and hit Outlands and loved it.

battlegrounds killed the PVP servers in WOW....The world went from being very active with huge battles happening in Hillsbrad and elsewhere...to empty.

Not to mention the udder lack of World events...Why am I not fighting off invasions at the capital/cities (why is the war contained to just BGs?) or hunting around the world for an annually spawning boss(remember the boss that spawned outside of org just before the release of TBC?) The entire world just seems so inactive and dull.

What exactly are they doing with everyones money???

besides adding more high tier instances that the vast majority of people never see

You know, I enjoyed all of the content in TBC a lot more then I enjoyed PRE-BC content. I liked raiding better too but then again I did have a better guild to do it with. I don't know, I loved the additions they added like flying mounts, arena, and stuff like that. Not to mention the lore is excellent.

nope you guys got it all wrong.

WoW was a great game. What destroyed it was the requirement to have a guild to do anything at level 70. Which means you MUST be hardcore and have a hardcore guild to get cool stuff and see fun stuff (most people in WoW are idiots and kidss-same thing...so most guilds are crap). I want to come online go on WoW and find a group to do a raid...not book a time slot with a crap guild who are disorganised.

I worked my ass off in wow...i was the first on my server to get many items and craft epics like Bulwark Of The Kings....it alll means nothing when you get ahead of everyone you know...you have to just stop playing.

I would love WoW to have non guild focused servers where you can just play at your own pace...i like being competetive and having better gear then others so i should not have to stop progressing because i cant "get into" a guild that is great because they have no space!

Well I've never been on a raid (It got to hard to level part level 30, so I quit) But I went on a few instances. 6 people isn't to bad. But i'd love to go on on full 40 man raids. The more = merrier, Yeah I don't see why they limited it to 5-10, but it certanly didn't kill the game.

I wouldn't say it destroyed it, but it's definitly worse. PvPing is terribly boring with repetitive gameplay (same maps over and over again, same tactics, etc...), and the 5-man instances are a bore fest. However, I think 25-man is much better than 40, less time to make groups, less noobs, and more loot.

I don't think you represent those 9 million, to say "something else" :|. WoW is not a good game but yeah it's the best MMO, but best MMO doesn't mean a good game and yeah it ruined Warcraft ;).

And Warcraft 3 destroyed Warcraft before that......Story goes from 2 factions fighting to the death to everyone holding hands skipping through the fields of flowers to fight the burning legion like a bunch of hippies, now say what you want about hippies, but orcs aren't supposed to be them......and that sounds like demotivational poster material.

Warcraft is a multiple rape victim......

Post the armory link to your character.

You feel this way because you know, deep down, that WoW is over. I have a level 70 Shaman and lvl 70 Warlock, and have been playing pre-TBC, and I know exactly what you mean.

Imho this feeling isn't due to the new content at all, it's simply due to the fact that WoW has finally gone past its expiry date. That's all there is to it. It's a cruel truth, but a truth nonetheless. I'm sure the first time anyone downed ragnaros they must have felt exhilarated, but after doing another 100 odd bosses things just seem dry and more than anything, tiresome.

WoW is a beautiful game, but the community just makes me want to throw up. Comparing it to a substantially inferior game such as Guild Wars, one finds less "epicness" in favour of a community that generally has access to all forms of in-game content pretty early on, and one seems to have more long lasting fun due to the community being more understanding of you, not just the game.

And yes, the lore has been raped. As that wise, wise person said - WoW destroyed Warcraft. I'm looking forward to playing Age of Conan. Maybe I'll find a better and longer lasting experience than I had with WoW.

P.S. - The one thing that destroyed WoW for me was the dawning realisation that you were only as good as your gear / guild.

How many of you really care? if you dont like a game move on, leave those 9 or 10 million people have their fun. I played wow and stopped just before tbc came out because I felt it as a bad ass grind, but some people like that and let them like it
