Do all games have the option to display framerate? If not how can I show it?

Also, how do I take screenshots ingame, printscreen doesn't work.

Fraps (trial version) has both of these features built in. I think if you have the trial version and you take a screenshot there's a watermark but I could be wrong.

It depends on the game and capture settings.. Sometimes it will make a game unplayable.

when recording, just having it there monitoring your framerate will do basically nothing.

No watermark, but you're restricted to capturing screenshots in BMP format, which can be easily converted with a free program like IrfanView.

Ahh, ok. Haven't used Fraps Trial Version ever. I haven't used Fraps in general in a long time.

I would use MSI Afterburner, I like it more than FRAPS.

I used to always use FRAPS untill I found out that it could slow the game framerate down but that has been fixed I believe, and for the past year or two I have been using Rivatuner to show framerate(fps) because it doesn't have any issues like FRAPS 'did'. I am not sure if you can or can not take screenshots with Rivatuner.

Ok thanks guys, and since someone mentioned Steam, what are the benefits of Steam as opposed to buying on a disc or from somewhere else?

Mostly convenience and price. Steam always has sales. Plus, quite a few games need steam anyways so when you install from disc they are connected to steam anyways

Fraps as said above. It allows benchmarking, screenshots, and recording gameplay. I use it alot, and it doesn't lag.
