I would suggest using EasyBCD to remove the XP boot entry, or using msconfig using windows 7 and first tab, check "use original boot configuration." From what I understand the Windows 7 bootloader overrides the Win xp one / replaces it, correct?

You can't. The first OS can't be removed without removing the later installations.

DON'T FORMAT, that's what i did and i wasn't able to run windows seven anymore.

if you don't want to see the OS choice screen then you just need to do this:

right click on My computer==> propreties==>System proprieties==>Boot and recuperation(i think) and choose settings then you must uncheck show OS screen for 30 seconds.

Hope i was clear :)

That will simply remove the XP entry, not the OS itself. The bootloader is on the first partition. removing that partition will remove both the XP and Windows 7 boot loader. You could try the following (at your own risk). Go to Win 7, manage, disk management. Mark your Win 7 partition as the active partition. Boot with the Win 7 DVD in the drive to do a repair install to recreate the boot sector on the win 7 partition. If that works, you can reformat the XP partition.

Win 7 RC starts to expire in march so I am not sure it's a good idea to keep it as your primary OS.

Or you can edit c:/boot.ini directly.

The reason i want to delete windows xp is because i want to sell my computer and xp keeps giving you notifications that it has to be checked for verification for authenticity. And i want to get rid of it. But since when i go to sell this i'll be reformatting it all together, how do i remove both windows 7 and xp so i can just fresh install windows 7?

Xp and 7 on 1 drive?, well just restart insert your win 7 disc, during installation choose to format the whole drive, and just carry on installing 7.

Alright thanks. I'll do that when someone buys this computer.
