How useful are macro keys (WoW end game raiding)

Between 5 level 80's, I'll always have 1 main and 1 alt currently being played

G11- 18 macros, up to 54 http://www.loa.com.vn/image/key/g11/586.1.0.jpg Average $50

G15 - 6 macros, up to 18 http://www.titansesports.com/wp-content/uploads/wpsc/product_images/logitech-g15.jpg$80

G19 - 12 macros, up to 36 http://www.geeky-gadgets.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/logitech-g19-keyboard1.jpg$170

Money's really no object, and I prefer the G15 in terms of aesthetics. Is 54 G keys really necessary ?

I've been using the G15 for over 2 years now and love it would highly recommend it. The LCD can display WoW Stats and PvP Stats depending on where your at with array of other utilities. You got 6 main macro buttons with the option switch them to M1 / M2 / M3 give you total of 18. I only use at max maybe 3-4 macro keys that need have hotkey in that location so it perfect for me and just use the other presets for alternate characters.

Just got the Microsoft Sidewinder x6 - you can get it for like $50 and it comes with up to 90 programmable macro keys. I personally dont know the point of macros or how useful they really are. Could someone explain their benefit?Gamesterpheonix
