most of the components of your pc are ok, processor pass, but the GeForce 8400 GS is not really meant for games and it's processor is so weak for 3D it's almost as bad as integrated graphics, you may also want to check your PSU if you want to upgrade your card

I'm broke right now. I'll should be able to get a new GPU/PSU after January 4 though. How powerful of a PSU do I need for a GTX250? Also, what's the AMD equivilant of the GTX250?

Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition
Left 4 Dead 2
Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising

elder scrolls 4: on low bad resolution

CoD: MW2 (Nope)

fallout 3 (nope)

left for dead 2 (nope)

flashpoint 2 DR (nope)

order of war (doubtful)

armed assault 2 (not on your life)

i prescribe a gpu upgrade to perhaps an hd 4670 then about all of that list is viable (except for perhaps left for dead 2)

I was hoping I could at least run Fallout 3. Is it really that much more intensive than Call of Duty 4?

Unfortunately, yes. It barely ran way back when I had an 8600 GT.

And ARMA II, even with an 8800 GT, ran like crap. It's an amazing game, but even with an HD 4890 it runs worse than Crysis.

An HD 4670 would meet all the system requirements for those games and slightly surpass them, but just barely. I'd really suggest a new PSU/Gfx card (a 450w PSU is about $25 on Newegg, and an 8800 GT, which'll play most games totally fine for a long time to come, can be found for ridiculously cheap on Ebay)

yeah COD 4 is less graphic intensive then any of the games you listed, I only get around 35fps when I play ARMA2, and I have a overclocked GTX275.

Wow. It seemed to me that Call of Duty 4 would require more than Fallout 3 and especially Oblivion.

oblivion believeably so it has 2 years on it. as for fallout well its that demanding yes.. mainly because its on the same graphical standing as oblivion (back when it was new) in terms of being demanding.. and really your gpu isnt far behind it (8600gt/9500gt min required)

I think I can wait a few months. I want a rig that passes Modern Warfare 2's reccomended requirements.

think your gpu will choke on most of those games, with the exception of Oblivion, It ran on mid on my 6600 gt, so I think itll run on a 8400, just dont expect it maxed out. its still a fairly good looking game, bloom non withstanding...

Well, I tried the ARMA II demo and ran it with a little bit of lag on minimum settings. Although, I did forget to lower the res, so that might have been a problem.

Really? I played the Dawn of War II demo just fine. And I don't see the final build being to much more intensive than the demo.

if you want to play the latest games well on pc you're going to have to upgrade your rig. and if you're going to upgrade you may as well do it properly.

i personally dont see any point in playing those games you mentioned on low resolutions on low settings, even if you upgraded your gfx card, youd need a new power supply possibly a new motherboard and even then with your cpu and ram you're not going to be able to get that good a performance level at decent resolutions.

if you dont want to spend the money it will require to run those games well then just buy the ones available for the consoles and wait til you can afford the pc upgrade for the others
