how well can this lap top run vista?

i got a new lap top but it seems a bit sluggish with vista

cpu amd turion 64 bitx 2 1.6ghz

1gb ddr sdram

nvidia 6150 uma

100gb hard dribe 5200 rpm

not very well

i suggest looking for something with 2 gigs of ram.

i have that card for a laptop and it does aero fine.

but look for home premium and 2 gigs of ram.

my pc runs areo fine it just takes forever to boot up . does not run google earth very well but movies look amazing. my cpu runs things okay but i need to over clock this lap top a bit . but not sure how to .

That card is not good at all anyway, I would go with 7600 Go insteaddayaccus007

Of course it's running Aero fine! My laptop's GMA950 (even worse than the 6150) runs Aero without hesitation.

The problem is that:

-There's only one gig of RAM, and probably around 128-256MB of that is being allocated to the integrated graphics. Vista'll really struggle with only 768MB-896MB of RAM.

-The 5200 RPM hard drive sure won't help performance when Windows runs out of memory and starts swapping to disk (and it'll do a lot of that, with only 768-896MB of RAM).

-If the laptop's from a major brand like HP or Acer, it probably has lots of bloatware on it, eating up additional resources
