Just curious to hear about other people's experience with the game, I've had it in my Steam collection for a while, decided to finally start playing it properly, play through it.

40-50FPS

Very High

50 View Distance

50 Detail Distance

Medium Night Shadows

100 Vehicle density

1920x1080

How well do YOU run it?

Oh sorry. I forgot to mention that the shadow quality is set to high instead of very high.

To my great surprise, maxing everything out(except for Night shadows, not enough GPU memory), only reduced my frame rate by five...

I suppose GTA 4 really did get patched up well, good on them.

As far as I can remember (it's been well over a year since I touched the game) I had to play on low to medium settings, sliders down to below 10 and even then I saw framerates of around 20 - 30fps. Apparently that is acceptable for my machine a Q6600 (quad core) with a GTX260 and 4gbs of RAM. I don't know call me old fashioned but running a game with worse settings than a console on a quadcore with a GTX260 is never "acceptable".

Everything set at high with the default view distance, 100% vehicle density, I get anywhere from 20-60 with my gtx460.

I have similar settings as well, it's frustrating when they framerate is so inconsistent.

Well I can't get it to run at all now due to "fatal errors." It was working perfectly fine a month ago... :(

Good on default(30-50 with 30 some average), crap on max settings(10-35 with 20 some average).
