I bought the AMD Phenom II 840 3.2 ghz quad core processor and a Radeon HD 6850, how well should those play games?

Unfortunately I've only got a 720p monitor :/ Hope to get a 1080 in the upcoming months though.

That PC will max pretty much everything at 720p and the majority of games at 1080p.
