you will play it probably at low-med settings...

Even people with 8800 GTXs have problems with this game...

No they don't.

He will play it on HIGH settings with a 6800GT. The game will even automatically detect high setting for him, and then with some tweaking he will get VERY HIGH settings, like I did, with the same video card and a steady 20fps in densely forested areas, 40 in cities, and up to 60 in dungeons.

I suggest bloom instead of HDR, I also suggest 1280x1024 and grass on full with low poly grass mod. Also water on medium instead on high, as the difference is negligable. Shadows on full in interiors, in middle in exteriors etc. TWEAK TWEAK TWEAK.

It will detect at high settings and with some tweaks you'll get a decent frame rate.

Hmm, I doubt he can run very high with that setup. Even after tweaking. And if you were getting those framerates, you mustve had a lot of stuttering. My current rig still encounters framerate issues/stuttering after tweaking my config.

Say what?? I have an 8800GTX and i play with everythign on max and i get really good frame rates. I even put the texture mod on which has a performance hit and it still runs fast. I've played a lot of the game and i've never seen any slowdowns. So i don't get how people with 8800 GTXs are having problems because i'm not

It's a dual core that's why it's rated at the higher ghz. It's dual at 1.8 but true raw power is at the 3.x ghz range

It's like quads and such. They're rated over 8ghz but at like 2.66 and so forth

I'm not saying they are one and the same. I know full well how they work. I am just saying it's not uncommon to see them say it's say a 2ghz and is rated at say a 3.8. It's not that it's a 2ghz OCed to that. But i would be you that is why his 1.8ghz is rated at over 3ghz.
