It would run, but gaming would be horrible on it, Vista is a RAM hog. The OS would run fine, no worries IMO, but gaming probably needs something better.

It will run fine. 2GB+ memory and you'll have ZERO issues with "ram hogging."

If you already have XP, stick with that for now.

I'd stick with MS-DOS, that's what I use. Either that or right before Vista boots hit Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, B, A, Enter(Space then Enter if two player) and Vista will use 30x less ram.

with 2gb of ram you should be fine, you should just dual boot though, that way if you dont like vista you can switch.

should run fine but not as well as xp. I think its just a hog. My bro has it on his pc and it doesn't run nearly as well as it did when he had xp. Also a few bugs/incompatibilities for some drivers/devices etc. I'd hold off on vista awhile till you can get better hardware and they make improvements

stick with XP, i am only considering getting vista because I will need a new OS for my computer and I will probably not want to buy XP, then get Vista, waste of money IMO.

but if you already got XP, i'd stick with that.
