How would you rank this laptop for gaming @ base price, 1 being the worst & 10 the best

a 8, cause of the price. gateway offers their laptops for more stuff and cheaper

maybe gateway but alienware rips u off good. are u going to use this for shcool/gaming out of ur home? if not u can build one with like two 8800GTS or even 2 GTX, 2 gigs of ram. near 1600

im trying to find a laptop for gaming and school i just dont want to spend like 4,000 on one!

I advise you to wait until DX10 arrives on laptops.

Which wouldn't be worth it anyways, due to the fact that the graphics chipset in laptops are worse than there card equivalent. Plus, no one knows when DX10 laptops will be released, so waiting would mean he wouldn't have a laptop for a while. Hell, there isn't even any DX10 games out there so why would he want to wait if he could use a laptop right now?

Asus announced they will be releasing one later this year, and since he said he wants to game on it, dx10 will be the only way to go next year...just didnt want to recommend him something expensive that will soon be obsolete.

What would you guys recomend for a gaming laptop around $1,600 that will be pretty good for a fair amount of time, but wont be crap either???
