Hey,

I used to play Guild Wars, and I heard that AreaNet was having some money problems. I was curious, how are they doing financially these days?

I havent heard anything about them having problems. GW is doing fine and is still supported and GW2 is reaching critical on the hype scale among mmo gamers.

Don't they make truckloads of cash off of the lineage games?

Where did you hear they were having money troubles. Are you confusing them from NC Soft? Which through numerous failed MMOS hasn't been doing well. Far as I know ArenaNet is doing fine, the guild wars games were big sellers.

That's NCSoft. ArenaNet is owned by them or something like that. Nothing is ever simple when it comes to game company relations these days.
