I can get a 42" 1080p for olevia from target for $650 through my employee discount and was wondering how it was as a brand...Ive read reviews and they sound pretty good but I just want to make sure...The mod# is 242TFHD

Searched the model number and the only thing that came up was your thread.

Make sure it has a pretty good response time, and if they let you test out the tv at the store you should probably do so.

i dont know about the specific model you are talking about, but my first hdtv was an olevia and i think that syntax makes the highest quality budget lcds. You should try to find a thread in the avs forums to see what they say there.
