I've read a lot about its excellent OLED screen. I think it's a better player than an iPod, but it hard to get people to walk away from their iTunes collections as well as their iTunes accessories.

I have one and love it. The audio quality is so much better than my 30 gig iPod video. The OLED screen looks amazing. If you get it I would recommend getting some different headphones as the stock ones are terribly uncomfortable.

What headphones do they ship with the HD? Is it the "Zune Premium" headphones? I bought a pair of those for $20 awhile back...they pretty much sound like $20 headphones. I wasn't disappointed for how much I paid, but I would have been disappointed had I paid full price for them. Not that I'm knocking the Zune...it's not like the ipod comes with headphones that are decent either. I do love my Zune :)

No they give you the crappy ones, I miss the premium ones( I lost mine) any way its a great device. video quality is gorgeous, audio quality is great as well, the UI is my favorite, it feels great navigating through the menus( music, pictures, videos, podcasts etc...) it has 5 or 6 EQ presets(can't customize them) great battery, charges pretty fast. and its very sleek it looks small but once you have it in your hands you'll see how light, small and sexy it is. I'd definitely would recommend it. @Dealge do you use the social? if so would you kindly give me your zune tag, I like listening to new stuff :P

Can you get internet and radio anywhere or do you have to be connected to a WiFi signal?

Might be slightly off-the zune HD-topic, (but i'm referencing the OLED screen at least) but I picked up Sony's OLED walkman, the NWZ-X1050. Very pleased with my purchase. The sound quality is excellent, and the screen really puts other PMPs to shame (aside from the Zune HD, presumably).

My only gripe is converting videos to take full advantage of the screen's resolution. It seems fussy in that respect. Also, the headphones that came with it are the best I've ever owned. Surprising, when you can get used to the junk that is often bundled with players (I'm looking at you, iPod).

How's the pricing for the ZuneHD? The RRP for the 16gb Sony walkman was £249.99... Needless to say, I waited until I saw a lower price-point of £169.99 before I took the plunge...

Honestly why dont you just invest in a good smartphone. Like the HTC touch Diamond 2, or Sony Xperia X1. I have an X1 and its perfect for video/music/phone/radio/web browsing over 3G network/calling/texting/other because it has windows mobile oyu can do anything with it.

Some people don't like draining their phone battery with other functions. For instance, my phone works as an MP3 and video player, but I never use those functions because I want to save my battery for...you know...talking.

My batt with wifi on/ music /talking /texts /bluetooth in the car/etc lasts me about 2 days and 3-4 days with wifi/bluetooth off, and when I dont use it a lot it can last for about 5 days.

Get yourself into a long distance relationship where the phone is the main communication line between you and your gf, and we'll see how long your batteries last you doing all that stuff ;) I would not be able to have 4 days of battery life on any sort of existing battery tech.

Yeah I can see how that would become a problem. :P

I had a Zune HD for a while and it was pretty dandy. But I eventually went back to the store, returned it, then walked out 10 minutes later with a 32 Gb iPod Touch. The main reason why I returned my Zune HD was because Microsoft doesn't plan on opening the App store to third party dev anytime soon. I hate relying on a small trickle of app updates and I doubt that hundreds of publishers will jump on board to make apps and games for the Zune HD If Microsoft releases the SDK to the public, improves the web browser speed, and allows for the viewing of youtube videos, then I'll go back to the Zune HD camp. But if you care mainly just about music and video with some minor apps/web browsing, then the Zune HD is a good purchase for you.

It's a new device dude! Don't you think you were being a tad bit hasty. They havent even released any TPG's yet! Work for apple???
