How's Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines?

Heard great things about it, and its 5 bucks daily deal on steam.

Worth it. It's a really good RPG, and you shouldn't miss out.

Just make sure to get the unoffical patch.

Thanks, all this hype is getting me excited to play it. any of you rec a specific graphics mod to go along with unoffical patch 7.9?

It's a great game, but be prepared to be disappointed at the last fourth or so of the game, they completely change how you can handle situations for the worse.

^^ Outdated in terms of what? Graphics? A lot of people can look past that. It still provides a rather unique mix of gameplay elements that you don't see in today's games.

this is a steal at $5 and if you have so much as the slighest amount of an interest in rpg's you will enjoy this very much.

It's a good RPG but to be honest, it feels rather outdated nowadays. I'm not saying it's not worth the praise it gets, but I'm fairly sure some people talk out of nostalgia.spittis

out of curiosity, if this is outdated to you how many, more recent rpg's could you name that do what vampire did or surpass it?

by that i mean games that allow you to actually play a role, gives you different options to do so and even forces you to deal with limitations of the character, has you make choices that affect the game in lasting and meaningful ways, set a mood and atmosphere that manage to intrigue even when you don't give a crap about vampires (in my case). the only rpg i can think of that i enjoyed about as much as vampire was the witcher, but the witcher's character development and options to advance in the game were very limited in comparison.

It's ok as a overall game, i haven't finished It. As an open minded pc gamer i would say that it's not what you would expect. I fired up the game two years ago and it was turning out to be gothic lush. Fired it up 2 weeks ago and turned out to be emo lush. Take it what you will. cheers.Travis_Odell

Troika is dead, this $ will all go to Kotick and his shareholders. Don't feel bad about getting the even better deal.

I completed 2 playthroughs. It's all about atmosphere. For $5, you really can't go wrong.

He would probably have preferred the vampires wearing Hollister t shirts and sparkling.

Amazing game, ending is disappointing but well worth it.

I don't have any comparison shots, but here are a couple of screens I tooks with enbseries installed. It's just a matter of taste I guess. The only thing I didn't like about enbseries is that it made certain areas very dark, so I had to increase the contrast on my monitor...which doesn't always look good.
