Hello guys. I'm really freakin bored right now and I just have to ask, even though I'm pretty sure the answer is no. But is there a game, or a mod of any game, for any system, that fits the following description:

First off this has got to be singleplayer. Or at least playable in singleplayer. But is there a game where you are placed in a giant battle (one that can last hours) as just a soldier? Like you are just this very small, non-essential force and alls you can do is follow orders? The battle you are in is dynamic and the winner can change every time. You will either not command anyone or only a small squad in this huge battle. But overall you have no direct control over the entire army and have little say in the outcome of the battle. Your just a soldier who follows orders and the battle plays out from there.

So, anything?

Search those: Operation Flashpoint, ArmA, ArmA 2, Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, Full Spectrum Warrior, Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter and probably some others.

Definitely Arma, it has an awesome level editor which allows you to create massive battles (with planes, tanks and choppers involved) and gives you the freedom to choose where you want to fight in that battle (as a grunt or commander of a squad). Don't worry though, the editor is really easy to use (but obviously a bit more difficult to master). You should also check Mount and Blade out, you start of rather small as a random peasant who can only hold up a bunch of bandits in his squad, but as you progress throughout the game you can later on fight alongside hundreds of troops and such as their king. Truly an awesome game if you can look over the bland graphics and such.

BF2 with Bots. Play as a squad leader and create a 64 player game. Probably the most user friendly method of playing the type of game you want to have.

Probably Arma 2, on youtube there are some videos showing 1500 ai battle it out and you're just on the battlefield with them. You would need a monster rig to run that though, as Arma 2 is really demanding to begin with

Alright thanks guys. I'll definantly have to try Arma 2 then. I'm gonna have to upgrade the CPU first though.
