overclocking is very simple.

CPU: go into the bios and raise the fsb (front side bus). that will raise you clock speeds. also be sure to adjust you memory speeds so they are the same or lower.

example if i overclock my cpu by rasing the fsb from 200 to 333 i go from 1.8ghz to 3.0ghz. that would also overclock my 800mhz ram to 1066mhz unless i changed it.

GPU: just download rivatuner and overclock gradually the core and memory. if your screen freezes you have gone too far and need to reboot.

Be sure to watch your temps though. OC'ing with not only void the warranty on your parts, but could possibly fry them too.

WOAH DUDE! WHAT ARE YOU DOING! You don't just OC like that unless you want to fry your parts. OCing an e6750, my god and your ram from 800 to 1008 are you nuts? Did you check the temps? Did you test your CPU? You need to make sure it is stable. Use prime95 or orthos, to make sure those settings are stable. Wow, I have never seen such ridiculous carelessness in my life. If you have no clue on OCing, I suggest you go back to reading on OCing and how it works. It is not just about turning numbers up and it is better.

Ok phew, good, but that is idle, how will it work under stress 100%? That is what you need to test. Also, make sure your RAM is stable, I don't know any RAM testing programs, maybe you can ask someone. All I know is memtest, but that is to check if it is working, and not how it handles under stress.

Make sure your CPU is stress tested for 24hrs, if it fails, then you need to lower the speed. Oh and change your signature speed. Is your CPU really @ 2.67 MHz :P

also sorry this is what it actually is

CPU OCed @ 3.4GHz

It ok, I wouldn't want to go higher than that though. It won't break, but not good either. I suggest you get another Heatsink for your CPU, if you really want to OC. I can't OC my Q6600, because I'm using a stock HSF.

Try dropping your speed to 3.2GHZ and a SLIGHT voltage drop.

Try not to pause it, keep letting it go for about 24hours. If you are happy with this speed you need to make sure.

I think you should consider getting PC coolers before overclocking like that.

Holy cow, you can OC that much? I always though it was just a little touch up to get a few extra frames. Dang I should look into this. The weak point on my laptop is it's CPU and if I can kick it up that much.:o (Or is it smart to OC with a laptop?) PS: Don't worry, I'll take it slow. Reaaaaaaaly slow. I'm a wimp and really like this thing.

Laptops, are a a lot different than PC's (Desktops). Laptops overheat (or heat more easily), since the airflow is constricted quite a lot. I really suggest taking it slow with laptops.

I just want to do it a little. My CPU is a duel core each running at 1.8. To reach the recommended statistics of Crysis I need to get to 2.2. How bac would it be to work my way up to 2.4? Also, is it possible to over clock the RAM in your video card or do anything about it? Cuz it says Crysis's recommended specs are 640MB and I only have 512.

My recomendation is that you should not push the ram that hard, Ram is much more sensetive than the CPU and for mostly can be damaged much faster than the CPU.

When you start an OC you first can underclock your ram usally the bios has a divider that you can lower the end output mhz of the ram.

Warning! DO NOT set the voltage to auto on anything, that can serious kill your hardware.

this is the correct way to oc:

*Try to find out the sepeate OC on both ram and CPU, never raise the voltage before it's needed.

*Always monitor the temps untill you know what the maxtemps are under load.

*ALWAYS start in small increasments, just add up under 100mhz on the cpu at time and if possible 10-30mhz on the ram each step.

*I would NOT recomend you run the max OC more than for benchmarks, people that brake stuff do something wrong or already has flawed hardware.

But yeah, I suggest you use google to find some good guides that can teach you. I plan to OC my rig after a year or so maybe, after I do plenty of research. Good luck
