You can never stop the World of Warcraft! It will keep going no matter what, even if you stop subscribing.

I started playing WoW a couple months ago.....and love it. I played lotro for about a year, enjoyed it, but it got boring since there's only about 2 raids in the whole game, deserted servers and the PvP was horrid. WoW just offered a lot more to do and has such a massive community on the servers. But cost wise...its only like 50 cents a day. Don't buy a coffee for like 4 days out of the month and you've got your WoW fee paid.

My coffee costs 70C :D

I hope people do start to quit WoW. There is no amount of reasons one can give you justify the price one must pay to play a game.

it far cheaper then buying a full price game every month? although personally i dislike mmo's and would never pay a monthly free for them.

Did he have fun? If yes then there is no problem. Also for all we know he might have played it like 8 hours a day since he started making it very very cheap entertainment for each hour.

Yeah, it's true, but think of it this way. Does WoW offer anything new after playing it for 2 months? No, it doesn't. It just starts to repeat itself. Yes, most games do this, but they are free.

I have been subscribed to an MMORPG every month since 2003. 4 years for dark age of camelot. Alot of time on other MMOs, some lasting 3 months, others last years. They provide a ton of entertainment with a great community. Since it is now 2010, in 7 years I have spent over $1200 on sub fees alone. Not counting the game and expansions.

EDIT: I also believe the money is very well spent. I mean for $15 dollars I get to play a fun game on a lag free server with patches that fix bugs and update NEW content all for the price of a movie that lasts 2 hours. If you are one of the types of people who think paying online fees for a game is dumb, than I guess your against ever paying for DLC because its the same turd just diff colors.

Liked it. But most of the time I found myself wondering what the point was. I loved exploring and getting new gear but the quests were usually less than stellar. The one thing I absolutely loved about the game but the economy and the gear. There was some awesome stuff and the auction house was sooooo addicting. lol I could buy myself presents without actually spending anything. hahaha.

I agreed with this aswell. Some people pay €10-20 on DLC for games which most of the them they add very little content where as WoW has big updates that adds alot of stuff and they are free.

I dont know why your are complaining, its a great deal.

I generally buy one game per month. Thats 30-50 bucks depending if its on sale

WoW, on the other hand, is as good as a new game in terms of content and replayability (in short, there is something to do all the time) and costs 15 bucks a month.

It sounds crazy, but if youre on a budget WoW (or any other MMO that you like) is likely the best choice.

From observing the consistent pay from the TC, it seems relevant to a sunk cost effect. World of Warcraft is an absolute juggernaut from a psychological point of view, lol...
