I canceled my Duke Nukem Forever pre-order.

Yes, I did. I loved Duke 3D back in the day, but unfortunately, I am smelling an imminent flop.

The demo was unimpressive, and after watching a Briton play the first 45 minutes of the game, I logged into Amazon and canceled my pre-order. I still have my Alice 2 and FEAR 3 pre-orders on, though.

Ironically, watching the trailers was more fun than actually playing the game.

I will still pick up the game... but not at the launch price. $50 is too much for something like this.

It looks more and more underwhelming the mmore I see of it. Long gone are the days of all our old classic hit games. They try too many new things with games these days so its usually best to leave the classics and bring on new IPs

I didn't cancel my pre-order for Duke Nukem and it arrived yesterday. I played a couple of hours last night and spent most of the day playing it and i love it. I get the feeling a lot of people are just not going to give this game a chance, no it isn't perfect, yes there are things that could be better. But it still provides a hell of a ride , I don't regret buying this game for a minute.

FEAR 3 might be fun, actually. No, it will never be as good as the first game, but if it plays anything like the second game, I'll consider it. At least we'll be able to shoot guns immediately, unlike DNF. Plus, there's $20 credit on from Amazon for it.

Yeah well from what has been shown Serious Sam 3 isn't going to dissapoint (unlike Duke). Its coming out anytime between now and semptember I beleive. Anyway, Serious Sam 3 may be our last oldschool fun shooter for awhile.

I wish they never finsihed the game. The delays of Duke Nukem Forever were a lot more enjoyable than the game itself.

I've heard people recommending Bulletstorm over this game. Might take a look at that instead.

I'm waiting on the Duke 3D remake that Gearbox gave the go ahead on. That thing will crush Duke Nukem Forever in my opinion.

I never had any high hopes for this game, and after playing the demo i'm still convinced this game will be terrible.

Have you read IGN's review-in-progress? Doesn't sound like a bad game, but it definitely doesn't sound like a good one either.

I thought about canceling my BoS edition for FEAR 3 after such bad reviews of the demo. But after playing it, I FREAKIN' LOVE IT! Feels more old school. Its really nice having an FPS that does things differently than CoD rather than try to copy it.

good decision. i bet most most people out there dont realize that its not the same game that had been in developement for 10+ years. in my opinion its a completely different game, gearbox might have scraped the original version right after it got its hands on the duke series, so the real development started 2010. malikmmm

you might be right guys, the game might not be great and mediocre at best but its the DUKE, i grow up playing it, and i will defiantly buy it how matter its bad (i wish they do a remake or a sequel to blood too)yemen_headshot

I did too. After Brink I'm very gun shy of games on release. Only games I will buy at launch are no doubters like BF3 and previously The Witcher 2.

I was looking forward to it, but the demo was, honestly, the worst 10 minutes of video gaming I've done since playing through the original green swamp level of Daikatana. Duke Nukem is dead, sadly.
