Man, this game is so much fun. Missed it when it came out in 2009, but playing it now.

Finally, a game I actually look forward to playing after being disappointed with Bioshock 1 and 2.

And I could care less about the whole Batman universe, but the developer did almost

everything right with this one.

It's a bit too consoleish and buttonmashy for my taste, but the great atmosphere and great

characters more than make up for that.

Graphics are serviceable but nothing to write home about.

Highly recommended if you haven't picked this one up yet.

In terms of scores, I'd give Bioshock 1 a 6, Bioshock 2 a 7, but this one is def. an 8.5 for me.

I know what you mean, this game really sucks you into it, when I played you get to feel like you are a part of a bigger universe out there. There is so much background to the game. And the Riddler challenges are just right.

Batman AA didn't sit well for me. There was no real progress to me for the Batman license in a video game.

Instead of feeling like Batman, I wanted to be Batman; let me be responsible for the Bat Utility Belt. Let me as a gamer be creative to make my own stuff to put it to use in a mission, why not? It's not like it's a multiplayer game, let us outwit the A.I.

I want to be sitting in the Bat Cave workshop for hours inventing things, and telling Alfred to go make me a sandwich.

Agreed. I wasn't expecting much when I first bought it since I'm not really a fan of Batman, but I was pleasantly surprised.

The grapple hook never gets old. I've played through it 4 times. Amazing game, but I don't know why you keep comparing it to Bioshock though, maybe cos they're the same engine?

it was a good game, I only wish it was more above ground exploring and less puzzle solving and set pieces. Hopefully the next one is exactly what I think it will be, a sprawling city landscape with the same story structure and similar gameplay mechanics.

Once you get further into the game, button mashing wont work, at least on harder difficulties.

I love Batman, and only got to play the game a few months ago and it's an awesome game. This reminds me I should go back and play through again on Hard. But such a great game, the scarecrow sequences were probably my favourite part of it all.

Just some hack and slash game. I've played it before. The fighting system does not compare.

Ninja Gaiden Black (Xbox) isn't hack and slash. I know on the surface it may appear that way, but it's actually an action-adventure game with an extremely deep combat system. However, Ninja Gaiden 2, and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 are basically hack and slash.

You should do more research because you have no idea how wrong you are now. Batman AA is a very simplistic action/stealth game. Ninja Gaiden Black/Sigma has one of the most complex battle systems ever found in a video game.

Batman's fighting system wasn't really that deep. I liked it, it worked well, but I don't think it was really deep at all, from what I remember it was fairly simple.

Simple to use, but difficult to master. Try forming a 50-hit combo chain. Not easy. Especially on the hardest difficulty level.

Amazing game and can't wait for the next one. I hope they make the boss fights interesting and challenging not fighting brutes and goons over and over again.

I had it on PS3, great story and stuff but combat was so easy, I found myself trying NOT to kill people fast, I mean it was great in a way cause you're batman and you should be able to own everyone but once you had a high combo you were unstoppable. D: Counters felt just right, too. Good game some cool puzzles and riddler challenges are so good, pick it up if you're a fan of Batman.

It was great but very repetitious after the first boss. It all basically boiled down to the exact same thing. I hope there is some diversity in the 2nd one.

How? There was heaps of variety given the different boss battles (Crock, Harely, Scarecrow specifically), the changes to the gargoyles and the different areas of the island you found.

I think he means like, a lot of the bosses were dodge out of the way last second, then throw boomerang, well...that's what it felt like to me kind of. The bosses weren't exactly the highlight IMO but they weren't terrible. Detective mode seemed a little pointless too, but I didn't mind it and was a nice change of pace. :)

I haven't had a chance to play that game... However you sound like me when I played Dragon Age Origins for the First time. I play like 40 hours in less than a week. Don't you love great games!

Even that I don't agree with. You had to do that a few times yes but what about with Harely? You had to jump those electric floors to get to her. Or the scarecrow bits! Croc was all stealthy as well! I'm not saying this about you but I've suspected for a while that people like to find things wrong with Batman: AA mostly because it really is that good! Who would have thought a year or 2 ago?!

If only you didn't recommend me that Batman game. I could of use that money to buy Crickets at petland to play with. I wonder if you can buy Honeypot Ants? hmm...

Dude, you have no idea how wrong you are. Batmans combat is simple compared to ninja gaiden black. They are both really great games, but Ninja gaidens combat is WAY more complicated than Batman.

It's one of the better games of 2009, but the lack of replayability and quicksaves pushed it down to the 8 range for me.
