It depends on what you changed in msconfig.
If you just want the message gone put msconfig back how it was it should be fine after.
I forgot what stuff I should change back. I guess I'm screwed. Or what should I do to find out what I changed? It depends on what you changed in msconfig.

What do you mean when you say "stuff" did you change just things in the "Startup" or did you go anywhere else.Auron159077I think I just changed startup. But I might have changed the option in "General." Should i change Startup Selection in "General" to "Normal" or "Selective"? And how do I know what to change in "Startup"?
Are you in Vista or XP.
Leave it on "Normal" for now.
In "Startup" look for processes that you know you installed like itunes and msn messenger and whatnot. Things you know you put on. Its best to leave most of it alone if you're not sure what it is.
I'm using XP. And I have everything in Startup checked. Is there something else I should do?Are you in Vista or XP.

Make sure that everything in Services and Startup is on and try a restart if you still get the error try doing a diagnostic startup should be in the general tab (Im in vista so im not sure.)Auron159077I switched to Diagnostics, but after that my internet connection wasn't working. So I switched back to normal, and another error along with the first one has appeared. I'm going to restart and check this again.

Can you still startup to Windows desktop? Dont't worry about things not working in Diagnostic mode. The reason that happens is that it doesnt load all the drivers. You say you changed it back and now you are getting further errors. What errors are you getting?

1. The QVE bus driver is not detected! Reinstall the Qsound Virtual Audio Devices Bus Enumerator driver
2. Runner file name (Updates from HP.exe) lacks a '-' (the app id separator)
3. Runtime Error!
Program: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Intellitype Pro\type32.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more info.
Error #3 came up twice.
Hmmm.. looks like a bit of a mess. But first, in MSCONFIG have you set the startup type to normal. Then have you clicked on 'Enable ALL' and Apply in the services tab and the same 'Enable ALL' and Apply for the startup tab?Neme2010I already did that, nothing changed.
Ok. It sounds like some of your driver files might have become misconfigured. Error 1 suggests a problem your sound card driver. Have you recently installed any new hardware?
Error 2 sounds like a printer software update problem. Doesnt sound too serious.
Error 3 Intellitype Pro. I think this is some software you may have installed from a disk you got with a keyboard. Again this is not too serious.
Error 1 will mess up your sound.
Ok, before deealing with error 1, I need to know if you have recently instaled new hardware?

Does that basically take away any chance of fixing this? Nothing really changed though when I did it.
Nope, never did recently.Ok. It sounds like some of your driver files might have become misconfigured. Error 1 suggests a problem your sound card driver. Have you recently installed any new hardware?

Yes. That is the general idea. you want to avoid a re-install if you can help it. So, can you tell me if you installed new hardware recently?Neme2010No I haven't.
Ok. have you got the sound card driver disk handy?Neme2010That's the thing. I can't find it. I guess I'm screwed.
Ok. have you got the sound card driver disk handy?Neme2010My bro might know where it is, I'm going to ask him if he knows. I'll have to e-mail him.
Ok, can you tell me if you boght the PC pre-built or did you build it yourself or have it built for you?Neme2010Prebuilt. Bought it. How is knowing that going to help?
If its branded HP, then yes. Go to HP website, look for the drivers/support link, put in the model of your PC. This will take you to a software download specific for your model of PC. You are looking for sound card drivers for QVE or QSound sound card. Download these once you have located it. Then you need to go into Add/Remove Programs and uninstall the old sound drivers. Once they have been uninstalled, you should reboot your PC. Once it starts, you will probably get the 'Found new device' dialog. Cancel this and any others that popup. You might need to unzip the new downloaded drivers first, but after you unzip them, hopefully a new folder with a setup.exe will be present. All you need to do then is run this exe to install the new drivers.
Good luck with that. Listen, Hydralisk, sorry but I need to get some sleep just now. Ill check up with you tomorrow if you are still struggling with it.
Hello Hydralisk. Yes, like the poster above suggests. If you right click pn MyComputer then select properties->hardware->Device manager, this will bring up the device manager. Now please be warned that, like MSconfig, changing stuff here can mess your PC up. What you are looking for is an item with a Yellow mark on it. Right click on this item and select update driver. Let it try an internet search. If that fails. Let it do an automatic search of your PC for the driver. Try that and see how you get on.
Good luck
Neme2010, thanks for the help, but when I tried to install the new driver, it says that I should first do something with a "bus driver" before installing it (I think this is what happened). If you're back on, could u post what it's talking about?hydralisk86
What message does the driver show regarding the thebus driver?

When I tried to reinstall the driver, it says, "Failed to obtain 805 Bus Interface." I think I remember it saying, "805 Registration Failed!"Hello Hydralisk. Ok, try this. Go into Device Manager, then from the menu bar at the top, click on View then click on 'Show Hidden Devices'. Now if you goback down and have a look at the list of hardware, you will probably see devices shown by grey traingles. You might see a few yellow exclamation marks. You can ignore most of them. The ones you are looking for are any to do with the sound hardware. So QVE or 805 . If you can see any of these, try and udate the driver. First try automatic, and if that fails, you need to direct it to the folder where you unzipped the sound drivers. Try this and see how you get on.
Good luck
