Sup Everyone,  I have this problem that I need help with. First off, I want a new Computer, but I know I dont need one.  This is what I have inside my computer,

ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe Motherboard: Socket 939 for AMD CPU, NVIDIA nFORCE 4 SLI, Supports Dual PCI-e VGA Cards, Advanced Overclocking Features

MEMORY

2 512MB Memory Sticks, 2, 1GB = Total of 3 GBs

Hard Drive

3 Hard drives: (a) 120 GB (b) Western Digital Serial ATA 7200RPM 200GB (c) Western Digital Serial ATA 7200RPM 400 GB

Processor and Speed

AMD Athlon 64 Processor with HyperTransport technology. FX-60 Dual Core socket 939

Video Graphics

ATI Radeon X 800XL PCI EXPRESS

CD-ROM drive 48x

DVD+RW/+R drive

CD- 32x/12x/10x

DVD- 8x/24x/24x

Power Supply

Antec 480 watt

My last upgrade was exactly a year ago,  I wanted my PC to be one of the most powerful PC in my town (at that time).  Now the reason I want to upgrade again is because of all the  great DX10 games that are going to come out, but for most importantly for Crysis.  I know that game is going to be great,  I feel it will push the boundaries among PC games.  For that I want to see and feel the full potenial of that game. Not to mention other games that will come out too like bioshock, hellgate, ect.  My 1st plan was too spend $3500 or $4000 for a brand new computer.   I already thought of what exactly I wanted in this new computer.

ANTEC NINE HUNDRED ULTIMATE GAMER CASE

IM NOT SURE WHAT PROCESSOR BECAUSE IM AN AMD GUY, SO WANTED TO WAIT FOR AMD'S QUAD CORE

SINCE I WAS WAITING ON AMD'S NEW PROCESSOR, THE MOTHERBOARD I NEED DOESNT EXIST YET.  SO IM UNDECIDED.

OF COURSE WINDOWS VISTA HOME PREIMUM FOR DX10.

BFG TECHNOLOGIES GEFORCE 8800GTX VIDEO CARD, PCI EXPRESS, 768MB GDDR3

BFG AGEIA PHYSX 128MB GDDR3 PCI PHYSICS ACCELERATOR CARD

GIGABYTE GC-RAMDISK PCI, RAM DRIVE ADD ON CARD ( BASICALLY A CARD WHERE I CAN ADD 4 GB MORE OF RAM THAN WHAT ALREADY IS ON THE MOTHERBOARD.)

AND A POWER SUPPLY

But then I came to my senses and I thought that was too much money for a new computer, especally since I just upgraded a year ago. But then I thought what If I just upgrade certain parts. Like my Video card, Windows vista, get BFG AGEIA PHYSX AND GIGABYTE GC-RAMDISK, plus about 4 more GB of ram for the ram drive add on. I calculated that I would spend about close to $2000. I'm thinking about going to Compusa, I measured my total price from there prices,  If you know a cheaper place PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!!! But that should do it so I can get that great experiance when these games come out....right ??? I'm no hardware expert. Never taken any PC clasess, I just learn off others and through the internet.

So these are my questions,  getting that ram card add on should help me alot with speed for the games right??? Plus not to forget my AMD FX-60 DUEL CORE that I already have. I heard other guys say that there PC loads windows in less that 20 seconds because of that  PCI ram card.  Shouldn't that ram card make up the difference of speed from an FX-60 to todays high end CPU (intel)????  Plus I've heard that they've made a new ram card add on that can hold up 8 GB of ram !!!!!  So what do you guys think (besides the fact that I may be crazy)???? Too expensive ?? Is there a different way(beside buying a new console). What ideas or comments do you guys have for me????   Thank You!

First off I would change alot, the antec 900 sure personal choice, qx6700 is a great processor i have it, the qx6800 is coming soon, but its not worth it just oc the qx6700. The evga 680i A1 is your best bet, vista hoem premium yeah sure... Do not get the 8800gtx get the x2900xtx it will pwn it like me in css, a 4gigs of ram you will need to get teh 64 bit version, power supply I would have to reccomend the thermaltake toughpower 750 watt it has 85 efficiency, stable voltages, and actual 720 watts which is incredible. I have never heard of a pci ram card, your pc is as best as it gets for what your parts are If you want to upgrade it get the x1950pro.

Actually what I really suggest you do is for now, don't upgrade or get a computer. Sure Crysis is just around the corner and your current setup won't be able to handel it with everything maxed out. Your CPU is pretty fine of course, but your main gripe is your graphics card. IMO, save up the money... then plunge it down on an Intel setup instead of AMD. As much as you're an AMD fan, things aren't looking too bright for them at the moment. Intel really is the dominant force now, spending money for an Intel setup will not make you regret in the next few years.

yea like ssjben said your cpu isn't that bad change your video card, i suggest the Nvidia 8600 or wait for the ATI R600 range to come out.
