Don't make him feel bad :(.

Buddy, I won't lie to you, the 8800GT is better than the GTS by quite a bit, but it won't stop you from maxing out most games that are coming out soon. Just don't think about it. Look on the bright side, you can start saving up for the 9 series before everyone else :).

Nearly all of NewEgg's video cards have "limited 30 day non-refundable return policies," so no, you can't get your money back, only a replacement. This is why I'm going to order my card from eVGA. Same price, in stock, 30 day refund, and step-up program. So unless you bought the eVGA model, you're sol. The 8800GTS is a great card, though, you're not a massive failure.

If you have the EVGA one, they have a 3 month setup program. You can definitly send yours in & get the GT.

Since he got it from Newegg, he can only get a replacement. Also, that's a little thing called return fraud...

Nice math. It doesn't get 200% the performance.

Anyways you might be able to return it to newegg> If you do that make sure to call them!! They might drop the restock fee. They've done that to me before. Just tell them what happened.

Or Step Up

Thanks Guys. I think I might call newegg to see what they can do. the new GT is a better card for the same price or less than the GTS, and it uses less energy.

The ones that paid $500+ for an 8800GTX are the ones thatmight feel bad especially if you recently bought one. The 8800GT isn't too far behind it and it's half the price and consumes less electricity. that is what happens when you spend so much on video cards.

I just told them that I didn't know that the 8800GT was coming out, and that I spent about 1600 dollars on computer parts from them which is true because I just finished my built this past weekend. I have only had my card for like not even 2 weeks now. That's all I said. I was talking to them over live chat and talked to this guy Stephen. he basically told me that he is going to give me a full refund so I can order my 8800GT!!! I am very happy about that. but the card is out of stock right now, so I have to wait, too bad.

They keep popping more and more up there...I was gonna send back my 8800gtx and get two of these but SLI scores show not much difference in lower reolstuion (Under 1600x1200) and I only play at 1360x768 max

Oh, I definitely wouldn't go SLI on this if you're playing at that resolution. I am playing at 1680x1050. the GTS perform very well at that resolution, but the GT will be better nontheless. I wouldn't switch if I were you. GTX is awesome enough unless you're going to upgrade soon to a better monitor.

naa no upgrade...I have a 27" HD TV that I play on. I'm super happy with it. I'm gonna stick with 8800gtx now until the big boy cards come out next century

Hahha dude, the GT is 200% better than the 320 GTS one !Menfear

Dude, its a 45% increase in performance.

As for feeling like crap, dont. I am in the same spot, but all I can say is that my card runs Crysis demo just fine. Maybe in a few months Ill sell it to get a GT, but until them I am happy.

And dont forget, all these people going out and getting GTs will likely regret when Dx10.1 comes out, and considering the 9000 series cant be far away either.

Its a vicious cycle, and you can either waste your money upgrading every 6 months or accept that your card is more than adequate, though not the best.

yeah, I understand. I was pretty happy with the GTS, but I just built my PC this past weekend and spent more money on the GTS!!!! Anyway, I already ordered the GT and I am returning the GTS for a full refund. NewEgg is awesome.

Dont worry mate. The GTS is a great card, but alas the GT is better. So we'll all run out and buy GT's and next month the 9 series will come out, then it will our turn.
