I have a few noob questions for you guys. Please help.

So I've decided that th first gaming system that I'll buy when I get a jobwill be an Xbox 360 Elite. But, what I've been wondering is if I should actually purchase an HDTV? Is it worth it? Like is their a significant differencein the graphical quality of 480i, and720i-1080p? And which brand of TV should I buy? I was thinking about one of those new LG televisions.

And, when I plug up the Xbox 360, do I just stick the HDMI cable in there, and the video quality automatically adjusts to the highest possible quality. For example. If I have a 1080p television, and the game that I'm playing highest resolution is 720p would it automatically adjust to 720p, or do I have to do that manually, and how would I do that?

And I've always wondered how you find out how big you tv screen is. Like how do you measure it? Like do you add up the lengths of all four sides, or do you measure it diagonally, I have no clue.

well, the difference in HD and 480p is phenomenal. I can't believe the difference. You need to see it to believe it.
