try to adjust the settings on the monitor ?

does your old monitor work ?

if it does, does it have an interchangeable cord to use on the new monitor ? if that clears it up it may be a faulty cord

if not try updating your graphic card drivers and maybe using the standard motherboard connection.

if that does not work you may have a lemon

I don't know what DVI is, I don't know anything about anything and I'm getting really f*cked up. My resolution is 1920x1080

the monitor you linked to doesnt appear too support 1920x1080, which may be the reason for it looking so bad. Set your resolution too 1600x900.

DVI:

VGA aka D-Sub:

@ TC: I'm echoing those who said your monitor doesn't support 1920x1080. The max res is 1600x900.

Make sure that the resolution you are running is the same resolution as the monitor.

Is that an HDTV? If it is, in the menu somewhere, there's an option to auto-fit the signal to the monitor size, at least enough for the screen to be readable so you can adjust the display properties to the correct res (1600x900).

I'd post a photo on mine except I can't because the option to auto-fit isn't available when the settings are correct.

It doesnt support 1080p, set to 1600*900 and it'll be fine. PS. The monitor looks like a piece of garbage.
