Thanks for the reply. Its Vista, its an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+, 198MB RAM, DirectX 10, and 2 gigs of memory.
You can grab an 8600gt or 2600xton newegg.com for under $100. Also you could pick up a really nice one for under $150. The 2900gt seems like a sweet deal for $149. Also the 7900gs, x1950 pro, and x1950gt will run CoD4 extremely well, and can be had for under $130. The GT is only $109. Good luck
No. Don't even bother with the DX9 cards anymore. If you want a card to play games at a decent frame rate then I'd cash in my money for a Geforce 8600GTS. ElviathanAre you high? Dx10 is not even close to full swing yet. 8600gts is not the answer. Especially when there are dx9 cards that outperform it for the same price, and ones that are cheaper. The 8600gts is pretty much a dx9 card, because it cannot do dx10 either even though it says it can.

What do you mean by 2 gigs of memory?
The only good part of this system is the processor, but 200 MB of ram? How are you even running vista? UNless you meant 1980 MB.
Here we go I'll just toss in my 2 cent worth.
This is what I have. You know what you have just about the same kind of machine that I have except I don't have vista and I don't have that 198 thing anyways I have the 8600 gt xxx 256mb on my machine and it looks just fine to me.
I'm not sure how much money youare willing to spend and all cause I don't have that much and I had the 7600 gt oc card before this one and when I whnet to this one at least I saw a difference. Every one else in here seems to say that they are the same but in my opinion I say different.
I'm not sure how new COD4 is but I assume that it would look nice and play good as well.
6150se does play cod4. just turn off anti-aliasing. here are the settings to play finely:
resolution:640X480
specular map:yes
ragdoll: off
bullet impacts: on
model detail:normal
water detail:low
all other settings should be switched off.
in the texture settings:
put texture quality to manual and following:
texture resolution:normal
normal map resolution:low
specular map resolution:high

I'd expect this from someone with 1 post who just jumped in from Google and felt compelled to register and offer his two cents , but jeez...

It's on the front page. There was a recent post before before my post.
I came here looking for stats on this chip set. I have a slim computer case and put one of my spare mother boards in it, this board has the 6150 video card built in. So I was looking it it was worth it to find a slim video card, or if this current video card would work. Its level of use would be light 3D gaming. Such as some of the unity games found on Kongregate.*takes note of this post to bump again in 2 years time :)

Is that a Compaq? My sons pc was the exact same specs, and it was a Compaq. I just went the cheap route, bought him a Athlon x4(2.4ghz), Biostar am3 mobo, 8gb of crucial Ballistix ddr3(1600mhz), gtx460gpu, and a ultra LS 600 watt power supply. I think I spend only around $400, and it's a big difference for him. If you don't wanna do that then just buy a 6670 GPU, increase your ram to 4gb, and cross your fingers. Thanks for the reply. I ended up getting a mini atx case for 20 bucks so I could fit one of my old video cards since it was originally in a low profile case. After getting all put back together and updated it was running great, but I think that has more to do with the Radeon 7770 that I put on it. :)Thanks for the reply. I have a low profile 6670 in my wifes Compaq media pc. I wanna put a Phenom quad in it because it's currently using a Sempron, which sucks, but she just uses it to stream movies, with the occasional web design, so it works for her. It's a am2 mobo, so there are only a few upgrade options. The phenom x3 or x4 is what I'm thinking, just to give her a little bump in performance. Thanks for the reply.
