I have a Aspire AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5000+(2 gig ram)

I will be getting a 8800 gt card- I cant find out how much power supply my PC has...but do most pre-built PC's have enough for gaming?

Pre-built. Is it a brand name PC? if so what's the make and model? if it's custom pre built then your probably going to have to open up your chasis and take a look a tthe psu.

Yeah I think that's the name of the case not the brand of the actual computer. So you have a custom made PC that you bought from a shop. If you have no documentation which lists what your PSU is.. then just open up the case. Don't touch the motherboard.. Just write down the name and model number of the PSU and look on google. Or write here and someone will tell you.

30fps at high on crysis.. Probably not. But you will get decent performance. $50 for alpha dog is not really worth it. And imo get a ATI hd4850 instead of 8800gt.

An 8800gt will run fine on high in Crysis; about 30fps average. And yes, you will need to buy a new power supply because the Aspire line is made by Acer, who generally doesn't give great PSU's, just like other pre-built companies. I would recommend getting a Corsair Vx450 for the power supply, and don't go for factory overclocked graphics cards, because you can overclock them yourself. Also, beware when purchasing something like the HD4850 or other single-slot cards, because they tend to run pretty hot, which is made even worse by the cases that prebuilt companies use, which only has maybe 1 case fan

I think he has a custom built PC with a aspire chasis http://www.eurowide-pc.co.uk/aspire-xdiscoveryal-silver-case-p-116.html I actually thought acer aspire was laptop only. but I see they do desktops too.

- Up to 4 x case fans:
- 2 x 80mm fan - front (optional)
- 1 x 80mm UV blue LED fan - side panel (included)
- 1 x 120mm crystal fan - rear (included)

That's good enough airflow, so he shouldn't have a problem with a single-slot video card like the hd4850. That's the card I recommend too. Best price/performance card.
