Ive been playing Mass Effect 2, and while I play, my CPU heat can hover in the mid 50c or at times the low to mid 60c (I try not to let it go over 65 or I take a break)
But I was thinking, just because my CPU hovers at the mid 50's doesnt mean my GPU isnt running hot.

Any suggestions of reliable programs that can track the heat of a mobile GPU would be much appreciated if there are any ^^

Rivatuner works, however you might have to alter the log for it to recognize your card.... Which card do you have???

Maybe GPU-Z would work.

If your using an ATI card then it already has a program for showing GPU heat. Not sure if the same is for NVDIA cards. I recommend HWMONITOR. Its free

Do you have CCC installed. It should display the temperature and fan speed on the "overdrive" panel.

I would love to check it out, but I dont know exactly where to find it. Searching CCC on the internet is kind of vague when looking for a secure download =P

Catalyst Control Center (CCC) can come from ATI's driver page for your card. Just make sure you download the full suite.

Nice. I have the 4650 in my laptop, runs pretty well.

To get Rivatuner to work with a mobile card, you have to do a couple things,

1.download and install rivatuner, but don't run

2.download and run GPU-Z

3.go to the folder where you installed rivatuner, and copy the file "rivatuner.cfg" and paste it on your desktop.

4.in GPU-Z, note the Device ID (will be 1002-xxxx)

5.open Rivatuner.cfg with notepad and scroll to RV730. under this, start a new line and insert the device ID, following the pattern of the other entries.

6.paste the cfg file into the rivatuner folder, overwriting the previous one. now, if you run rivatuner, it should run properly and give you OC options, along with heat, clocks and other information.

As do i. It monitors CPU, GPU, case temps, and voltages. Great program for the overclocker.
