Just to switch to another card hear? EVGA 8800gt overclocked 512mb gpu. Now it says it needs 26a on + 12v and so I have a 500 psu that has 2 pci-e connectors and one has 16a and the other has 18a and yet my gpu has been working for over 2 years now. How can this be done?

Sounds like that PSU isnt very good, 16a on one rail and 18a on the other. When I first got my current computer it had a 580w PSU with a 16a and 18a rail and my HD4870 killed it within days.

But I think for PSUs you add the 2 (or 3,4,6,) rails together...I think

I think that is what I did was add the 16A and the 18A together and when I got the total I just assumed that it would work. That is the only thing that I can think of why it is working as it is. Thanks tor the web site ther not sure if I totally believe that cause how did he find out that that psu really gave him that much psu but oh well
