It has been known for a very very long time that dx 10 cards can do dx 11, so it is no big surprise
if you have questions look it up at the MS site
You could install DX9 on DX7 cards, not that it uses DX9 but anyway. The fact that you have DX11 there doesn't mean you can fully use DX 11, it just means that it's there, also DX 10 cards are compatible with DX 11 to a certain point ;).
My pc is one month old, and one of the things I'd been looking forward to was seeing DX 10 in action.
What a complete letdown. There are so few games that have it, and the ones that do have it are only marginally improved upon. Far Cry 2, for example - don't get me wrong, I love this game, and it is beautiful, but I'm hard pressed to tell the difference between Dx 9 and DX 10. I'd say that the shadows in DX 10 somehow seem to be darker and more complex, but that could just be my imagination playing tricks on me. I'd say the same thing about Assassin's Creed.
And the DX 10 games that really are improved upon... all two of them... Stalker Clear Sky and Crysis, will only run on state of the art hardware. I think that this is probably why we haven't seen more DX 10 games - because the developers, when they use all of the DX 10 features, have discovered what a system hog DX 10 can be. And that reminds me of the game I installed yesterday afternoon - Call Of Juarez. To keep the cost down on my new PC I ordered a lowly 9800gt (I plan on buying a GTX 285 this summer). Call Of Juarez, in DX 10, runs at about 20 frames per second on my core i7. It's unplayable really. And what's the difference between DX 9 and DX 10? - again, it's just that the shadows seem to be darker and more complex. It's not worth the performance hit. It's not something you'd spend good money to upgrade for.
All that talk, two years ago, about, "whatever you do, don't buy a DX 9 video card", has turned out to be utter nonsense. Personally, I thought that the move from DX 7 to DX 9 was a leap, whereas the move from DX 9 to DX 10 was a baby step.
Oh well. I'll get excited about DX 11 when I see it.
You heard wrong, it's just that they didn't really use DX 10 for games, there aren't any DX 10 games, only DX 9 games with DX 10 features.W7 comes out with DX11 i herd that DX10 was to hard to work with

I like how you renamed your uTorrent shortcut on your desktop ... patheticsimardbrad
we have sketchup pro corporate edition the company I work for uses utrorrent to transfer files quickly from the main server if you don't believe me I have proof. Don't call me a pirate. Its allot faster then useing autocad
ANYWAY I can take pictures of all my games and show you I have the box for each and every one of them, just because you like to think that utorrent is JUST a pirateing software doesnt mean that it is so you can bring your pumped up attitude elsewhere.
I like how you renamed your uTorrent shortcut on your desktop... pathetic.
Pathetic? Kinda like how you pretend not to pirate. However, you're able to pick out utorrent from just the icon, and then assume other people use it for illegal means? simardbrad got pwned......damn!!!Please Log In to post.
