Kind of pointless to get the 940millerlight89I wouldn't say that. Anyways, what x58 mobo? theres a few out there. Your gonna love it, i saw a noticeable diff from my q6600 and makes my old 939 rig look like a iphone.

Very true. minimal performance potential between that and the 920, at double the pricetag.

indeed u can easily overclock the 920 to much higher speeds for half the price sure u might be able to overclock the 940 higher somehow but not worth 300$ more.[QUOTE="webstaxero"][QUOTE="millerlight89"]Kind of pointless to get the 940johnny27

I have a computer on the way with the Intel i7 940 (2.93ghz), 4gb of ram, 2gb Radeon HD4870 X2, and Vista 64bit
Compared to what I have now
Intel dual core 2.66 2 gb. 256mb Radeon x1300 pro, and XP SP2
Will I notice a difference. You bet I will. I might even be able to play Supreme Commander with all the graphics up.
I have heard good things about the Core i7 so I hope it lives up to that, especially for the price.
you could have saved yourself alot of money and just about got the same results by replacing the graphics card. sure the core i7 is better than core 2 but its not like core 2 is to pentium 4/dI have a computer on the way with the Intel i7 940 (2.93ghz), 4gb of ram, 2gb Radeon HD4870 X2, and Vista 64bit
