i remember when i was young i used to hate pay to win games or games where if u had the most money no matter how much work you put in the game the people who pay will be way better in most cases

but now i understand because i do not have the time to grind anymore like i used to. but i do have the money

It still isn't a valid reason.

Pay2Win needs to die.

(PS: the title should read "I now see...")

They should eliminate the grinding altogether and just let people have fun.

No, it seems they made the grinding longer in order for you to be more inclined to pay.

Skill2win is far superior to pay2win or grind2win (both of which need to die).

That's why I like Dark Souls so much.

The singleplayer part of Dark Souls is all about learning the different enemies. Grinding helps, but not needed. Personally lost interest in the MP part in Dark Souls as I have been repeatedly killed by people who find ways to cheat. I've enjoyed the fair matches, though by fair I mean someone who doesn't cheat. Some of them have still destroyed me completely.

It's just that... There is nothing really wrong with grinding for unlocks, if the griding feels like fun.

If it starts feeling like a chore, there are some other stuff that comes into play: maybe, just maybe the devs have made it a chore and not fun, so you would be more willing to spend more money.

Heck, I think we all bought some microtransaction one way or another.

But the only way to stop this trend is to buy the least amount possible. And to not support games that forcefully push microtransactions into games that don't need them.

If you are spending hundreds, if not thousands of hours into one video game. There is nothing wrong with spending a little extra above the 60 dollar the game normally costs.

But say you are spending 100+ dollars in a game you are not getting the most out of... or heck, don't even like that much. Maybe your money can go to more deserving devs.

My 2 cents anyway :)

Very true. I only enjoyed the online multiplayer of Demon Souls and the original Dark Souls. I played so many hours and fought so many different people that even hackers didn't pose much of an issue (the hackers were always poor players who also didn't understand that even if invincible, you weren't immune from falling or bleeding to death!).

Oh only those hackers... Not those who I think creates a few second lag on you to hack and slash all they want. And then reconnect so all the hits suddenly counts and kill you.

@papermario: I hate pay to win games - what does pay 2 win means? a multiplayer game where the opponent got an edge on you because he payed for something that isn't reachable without paying cash on it.

Grinding so much that you're willing to pay cash for an item is also bad and it's basically the same thing.

Now what you describe as saving time is called paying for unlocking content at start, something that GW games did in order for you to join pvp instantly.

If you want enjoy it with your friends and they already got few solid hours in the game - sure pay for unlocking content is fair.

Grind 2 Win and Pay 2 Win are both equally shit concepts.

Only proper way to play is Learn 2 Play 2 Win.

I don't understand how someone could get a genuine sense of victory from Pay 2 Win games. It's like walking into a room of chess game, and declaring yourself as winner after slamming a sack full of dough on the floor.

@skipper847 "Didn't pay to win use to be called cheats."

No. Cheats are free.

Pay to win is never ok, especially when it comes to any multiplayer component.

When it comes to SP games, I hate how devs prefer to sell you stuff to make grinding easy, when it really should just be a slider. Devs: Give me an XP / money / drops slider to decrease the amount of grinding I have to do to progress in your games.
