Hi,

I'm a BIG fan of Rome: Total War, it used to run great on my computer however following a recent format and re-install of everything it will not working!

When i click on Rome it begins and i can hear the intro movies but nothing comes up on the screen at all!

I have tried to update drivers (using Device Manager) and have been to the Nvidia website to download the latest drivers for my graphics card but it still is not working!

It used to run really well on my machine but i'm running out of ideas now as to how to fix the problem and get back into the game, any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks

Tom

Do you have the expansion? I generally find things mess up with it.

In order for it to work i have to install Rome, patch it to 1.3 THEN install the expansion then patch it to 1.6. Otherwise i start getting lots of problems.

it might alos be a video problem , I had a video problem once with it , & to fix it , search google under Rome Total War Video Problems or something like that , it will probably need u to install Codecs for Windows Media Player 9 or install WMP 10 . I had this problem & that's how i fixed it .

Install wm9 codec, the installer should ask you if you want to install it - It's also on the first cd somewhere.

I'm just suggesting the stuff that worked for me ;) It's the codec you need, not the player.

Has anyone else had this problem?  If so how did you sort it out?
