I came up with this after about three days of researching:

http://pcpartpicker.com/user/GreenvaleXYZ/saved/3w96

I consider this expensive; I normally buy pretty low-end stuff. I think I'm going to pass on the PS4 and Xbox One. I have a ton of older systems, and I have a Wii U, which I love, but I want a machine that's going to get me through the next 2-3 years on, I guess, medium to high settings for standard big releases, and just anything that floats my way and catches my eye. I love indies, might even get Star Citizen ( I'll get more RAM if I need to).

See any conflicts, or just dumb choices? Any help is greatly appreciated.

For the RAM, have a dual channel 2 x 4GB set instead of a single 8 GB. For the GPU get a 760 with 2 GB for cheaper or a 770 with 2 GB for around the same price. It really doesn't make sense to get that extra VRAM when 1080p monitors won't use it and you should get a R9 290 or a 780 at the minimum if you plan to play on a 1440p monitor instead anyway. The rest looks fine to me.

This, though why get such a pricey wifi adapter. I am very ignorant when it comes to these things but I know people who have cheap $20-ish dollar ones and are quite happy with them (some even use wifi dongles). I use one that came with my Asus mobo and it works perfectly fine. I dont know your situation but that sounds like some cash to put towards a GPU. If you use consoles with wifi with no problems why spend $100 on an adapter

Thanks for the comment. Yeah, I've never really had serious connectivity problems and I don't plan on this thing ever leaving my living room, so you're probably right about getting something more sensible.

I would maybe recommend putting that cash towards a GTX 770 2GB unless you would prefer to put it towards something else.

I recommended Gigabyte Windforce, EVGA w/ ACX Cooler, and Asus DirectCU II probably go with one with best price. If you want I can help you find a cheap and good wifi adapter around $20 dollars

Thanks for the recommendations, I'm going to go with the EVGA, actually. And I found a cheaper adapter, I think I'm almost set! Dude, thanks a lot for your help!

Pretty solid rig, good job - smart move you went for the 4Gb version of the GTX760 if you're planning on more than 1 screen or 4k monitor.

If you're gonna go high end with your monitor(s) then you should go high end with your card aswell, 760 is a midrange card.

get an SSD for OS and for playing games on it. use the 1tb for stuff that doesn't require speed. win7 probably needs about 60 gbs to work with so when you partition ur drive give it at least that much, preferable 80gbs for room for expansion. then give another 80 gbs for games... assuming u get like 128gb ssd. u would be insane not to use an ssd for the cheaper cost of them now.

It's pretty good GPU, you can run games at mixed graphics, the 4Gb edition makes good use for larger resolutions.

Tell me of 1 game that maxes out 2 GB, let alone 4. The only one that I can think of is Skyrim with a bunch of mods. You always wanna take raw power with a 770 over a potentially useful extra 2 GB of VRAM. The speed of the 760 will hold you back before its 2GB will.

It's not about the game it's about the resolution you play.

Why do you think Titan is so good at 4k gaming? it's 6Gb of VRAM that makes it possible.

You can easily OC 760 to 770 standards. I didn't believe it until I did it myself. EVGA 760 is a solid GPU. ACX cooler handles OC very well!

@PredatorRules: a 760 with 4GB is useless at 1080p and it's underpowered at 1440p.

And you can OC a 770 further up. I'm not bashing the 760, I'm saying a 770 with 2GB is clearly better than the 760 with 4GB.

When did I mention 760 - 4GB version? I have 2GB version and it's wonderful but I play @ 1080p. A friend of mine has 770 - 2GB (MSI) and he can't OC it.. It's pretty much factory OC which kind of blows cuz you can OC GPUs much farther yourself.

That depends on how lucky you are in the silicon lottery. I got a MSI GTX 680. Factory OC is +50MHz yet I can get another 175 or more into it. Boost clocks while on stock do vary a bit, manufacture states 1124, though it usually ends at 1137... I have pushed that up to 1320. Also TC has the 4GB option in his link in the OP.

1320 is nicely done! were you able to get memory clock from 6000mhz to 7000mhz? I got my 760 to 6800mhz without even trying to stress the card too much. On Overclock forums so many guys with 760s got their's past 7000mhz. I'm sure, I can too but I don't want to absolutely rape the card, I want it to serve me 2-3 yrs without any bs.

I've had it up to 7200, but mostly I end at 6800 or 6900. I have to lower the core clock a lot to the get last 3-400 MHz faster. My score in the benchmark thread I have it at either 6800 or 6850 and core at 1320. Now I have excellent cooling on this card, I couldn't get this far with just aircooling. But with water it has never been over 45C hot. It reached 44C after 30-40 minutes in Furmark with power limit set to max. If I were to stress the processor to max at the same time I assume it might go up to 48C or so. During most benchmarks the cards reaches 40-41C.

That's sweet, keeping the card that cool will definitely extend its life a lot longer!

I will most likely get a new one before this one dies... Just waiting for a card is at least twice as powerful as the 680. Roadmap from nVidia shows 880 should be twice as powerful... At least double precision per watt should be. If I am still on my backlog I will most likely wait for another generation of cards to come.

Yeah, you have no reason to replace a 680, it's FAR from weak. You should be good for another 2-3 years.

It's not about the game it's about the resolution you play.

Why do you think Titan is so good at 4k gaming? it's 6Gb of VRAM that makes it possible.

760 can't play 4k though. Even 2 Titans struggle.

I'd personally go for a 770 over a 4GB 760, as they're the same price.

290$ vs 330$ isn't the same price.
