Sony is good for relieving you of that extra cash that has been laying around and you don't know what to do with. Oh, you don't have any extra cash laying around you need to throw away? Then I would try Dell, HP, Compaq, Gateway... For a laptop that isn't for gaming, you really should only need to spend about 600 to maybe $1000 for a nice machine. $1500 can get you something light and thin.

For $1500 for gaming laptop (personally if I was to game , I would build a desktop rig, you could have an 8800GT) look for a videocard that has a 8600 M GT. You will play all the newest games on medium settings except for crysis.

No one reads my posts, wtf, I guess I'm going to have to spell it out. Here goes...

You can customize yourself an Inspiron 1501 @ Dell.com with XP or Vista. For Vista, I recommend 2GB of RAM, but I reccomend you buy it with the minimum ram option from dell and buy yourself 2GB of DDR2 667 from newegg.com and install it yourself. You'll save a hundred bucks or more. For XP, 1 GB should do you, but 2GB would still speed things up, just not nearly as much as with Vista. Your choice on single or dual core processor, but I would want the dual core. I would want at least 120GB HDD, but it's up to you as well. I wouldn't get the stupid service plan and protection plans that they try to sell you on. Those are really only there to help their bottom line. I think you can sift thru the rest of the crap on their site. Good luck.
