I've had enough of Guild Wars 2 after playing since beta, so now i'm looking for something new. Have no idea what to play. Don't want to play WoW, but I need something to fulfill my mmo craving. Help!!

Neverwinter Online is pretty good and after playing the beta FFXIV A Realm Reborn is going to be pretty sweet.Arthas045
I would avoid this one. It's a complete cash shop.

The game is F2P, which it needs to make money somewhere, but in no way do you need to buy any of the stuff. For a F2P MMO I am pretty happy with it.The game is F2P, which it needs to make money somewhere, but in no way do you need to buy any of the stuff. For a F2P MMO I am pretty happy with it.Arthas045
Unfortunately there are some things that you pretty much must buy: Bags and skill respecs come to mind.
It is a horrendous cash shop, that's not even debatable.
Agreed, I played Rift during the Beta and upon release and it is probably the most polished game release I have ever seen. It can only have gotten better since then and I hear the latest expansion is getting awards so I might just grab the game myself(again).Rift is F2P and is probably the 2nd highest quality MMO on the market right now.

Rift PvP is terrible in my opinion. Competitive warfronts are rare, typically one side rolling the other 88% of the time (literally 88% of the time, people logging scores on the main forum lol).Â
Saying that, I did just get my 24 month vet reward so they are doing something right.

it sucks? haven't tried it myself, just seen some videos and it looked interesting, action based fighting and all that...
It looks interesting, but it really is terrible. Â I played in beta, so maybe it will be better when it releases for real, but right now it's just bad. Â The dragons are nothing special and are summons instead of pets that wander at your side, the combat gets old really quickly, and the classes are just boring.

What Xeogua said.... I was in beta as well and it was so bad I played like 30 minutes and said #$%^ this lol.I dunno I kind of want to try something other than a typical MMORPG, are there any good MMO's that aren't very similar to WoW or GW2? Doesnt have to be a RPG.What is it you want from an mmo?
RIFT is a good alternative if you want a game.

EVE is a good alternative if you want a world.Â

So, like EVE?
What makes EVE Online interesting is how the game is about economics and politics as opposed to killing stuff and getting stronger for the sake of killing stuff and getting stronger. Unlike Guild Wars 2 or WoW, the game offers a fair share of depth and does not hold your hand either unlike the 2 titles mentioned.
Beware of the steep learning curve though, and some people do call it a spreadsheet simulator.
Age of Wushu is another mmo which is hardly in the norm, but it is a bit too unrefined and feels a bit like a beta last time I played.

Troll ? He clearly stated that he played GW2 and done with it. Now he wants another Mmo.

I might give EVE a try, but as you said it takes a while to learn, also the monthly fee is a downside. I was also thinking of trying out LoL, im usually not a fan of Moba games, but this one seems to get a lot of praise.[QUOTE="Maroxad"][QUOTE="KABCOOL"] I dunno I kind of want to try something other than a typical MMORPG, are there any good MMO's that aren't very similar to WoW or GW2? or try Dota 2. first moba i've ever played, and Steam says i have 700h in only about 6 months... you could say the game sucked me in.
Play some Rift, the F2P model in that game is actually very good, unlike LOTRO. Pretty much only thing you need to pay for is more bag slots, more character slots, and the ability to sell things in the auction house. Unlike other F2P mmo's all regions and quests are free from the start.
Â
I don't play MMO's that often I find them really boring, but Rift has managed to keep my attention for awhile, even though I play maybe a couple hrs every other day.
