Hello everyone , I have had the same computer for quite some time now and beleive its time for a new one. I don't have alot of money so I had a question about a certain setup. The crytek computer looks really nice to me since its cheap( my budget is around $900 - $1,200) and able to run games , but everywhere I go to read about how well it plays people only post their computer specs instead of any good information. I'm not very online savvy with parts in general but I try to understand. So my question is :

Is the crytek computer really a good deal?

Can it play other games such as Bioshock , Mass Effect , MMO's (FFXI respectivly) , and the upcoming games Aion and Diablo3 on a good high setting very well?

Does anyone know a better deal than the crytek one?

I already have a keyboard , mouse , monitor , and other such things I only need the computer itself.

Thanks for the time and I hope to hear from you soon.

-Traya

I'm assuming, because it has Crytek in the name, it can run Crysis. After all, Crytek is the developers of Crysis. xD

...But seriously, that looks like a good PC. However, if you actually take the time, you can build your own PC for about half that price.

Building a PC isn't that hard, either. Just look up a good guide on the internet.

Yes its supposed to be able to run Crysis. The thing is though is that I do beleive these peices have already been presummed from new egg and tiger direct and come out at $875. Its actually also a build your own computer parts as they are seperate prices and not a package. Here is the link http://kotaku.com/345278/crytek-specs-out-an-affordable-crysis-pc?cpage=2#viewcomments

Can you show me a good guide? I can't find any good ones and most go over my head.

So that's not actually a PC but a bunch of components added together to show what a 900$ can buy (i.e Crytek advertising showing that you don't need a 5000$ monster PC to run Crysis). Mind you that those specyfication came out in January and a many things have chenged since then. So, well, you're not afraid of building your own custom PC and that's good. Let's see what a thousand of dollars can get you (those Crytek cuild was nice by the way but it's aged and need some updates):

E8400 - one of the best CPUs on market, best choice for sub-100$ build, should last long, especially after overclocking. 190$

Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3L - just a decent motherboard which does its job. 90$

Patriot 4GB 800 MHZ 84$

Western Digital SE16 640GB - fast, quiet, spacious. What else to expect? 95$

Corsair 550W - solid and sufficient. 90$

Some DVD Burner - 25$

Cooler Master Elite 340 - a solid case, but you may choose anything that fits your taste and it's not any kind of crap. 40$

So it's 615$ (I'm assuming that you already have an OS (XP will be sufficient), otherwise you'd have to spend another 80$ on Windows). This leaves us with 485$ for a video card which is quite plenty. Radeon HD4870is agood choice, but they're currently out of stock. If you must buy now, go for a Radeon 4850 for 175$ (here's a promocode that gives you a 20$ rebate)

Thanks a bunch! Those look really nice and have alot of good ratings. I really appreciate it :)

Would you say that setup could handle the games I mentioned fairly easily?

Sure, but it, of course, depends on kind of display you have. If it's, say, 30 inches Apple Cinema with resolution of 2560x1600 then yes, it may have some problems with maxing out those games:) But for the regular 17-22" monitors it shouldn't have any problems with running any of these games on a native resolution with high details set.
