you could also always go raid yee oldee craigslist or if you live in canada kijji for the occassional bargain.. youd be suprised what some people part with for pennies..

my teacher saved himself about 1200 dollars in used routers a month back cause some dude was selling twelve cisco 2900 series routers for $45

there is also a guy near my place parting with a sweet emachine prebuilt for $250 (athalon II x4, 4gb ram, win vista 64-bit)

wow what crappy luck, best option is to go to kijiji or something like that for a comp cheap as possible. You could also try and figure out what exactly fried in your old comp and replace the broken parts. For example maybe just the mobo is bust, or the hdd, or the video card, or the cpu. Figuring out which is not working anymore and repalcing those parts is the cheapest possible route and at this point heck you got nothing to lose anyways.

If you JUST ordered the 5670, I would strongly recommend you return the card if you are not interested in building your own PC; shipping and a restocking fee are a small price to pay to get most of your money back towards a new PC. Consider iBuyPower for your new PC; despite the silly name they are very well reviewed and offer quality, pre-built PCs using components at a very reasonable price. You can buy direct through iBuyPower or from Newegg. Newegg may even forgive the restocking fee and/or shipping if you tell them you want to use the return as a credit towards the purchase of a new PC.

If the boutique brand makes you nervous, a Lenovo is certainly not a bad alternative.

Good luck,

Boz
