Black and white 1:
Here you will play a large role as a god, you will use your divine powers to help your people by using your creature and miracles alot. In B&W1 there is alot more to manage if you play alot and want for example your creature to be very good you might have to spend 50+ hours just watching and telling it whats right and wrong, how to train, throw stuff, help your villagers or defend them. There is not much city building there tbh well some but its basicly 2nd hand. Its alot more focused on what you do if you are good or evil.
Black and white 2:
Here you dont play a large role at all. Honestly you build a army (like in any RTS) and you attack them. The creature dont pay a large role because it got dumber from B&W1 and you even have to watch it less. Sure B&W 2 have alot better graphics however in my opinion Gameplay > Graphics. If you removed the "hand" and that you are a "god" it would be a small RTS with not alot of stratedgy.
In the end it comes down to 2 things:
1*Or do you want to be a god, teach your creature what to do when to do it and be more focused on YOU as a god.
2* Do you want to play a game RTS style, build buildings, fight with your army or protect your town.
If you want 1* then get Black and white1
If you want 2* then get Black and white 2
