Ok, i'm trying to link my printer to my macbook. On the manual it asks that "Specify your machine by IP address or mDNS service name. To change the IP address, enter the new IP address"How to i find my Ip address ?Thanks

go to run and type cmd
In the command prompt type in ipconfig /all
It should then list your IP address it shoud look something like 192.168.1.2 The number at the end might be different.

Doesn't that number change though? I think he would have to find a way to set it to automatic.

He's on a MacBook.

Damn, it's a while since I used a Mac. I know you need to get to Apple's version of the Control Panel. You can do that by clicking the Mac logo in your dock. After that, find something like 'Network'. In that window you should see all your network connections and an IP should be listed for each one.

EDIT: Unless he has the habit of power cycling all his computers at the same time, his local IP address isn't going to change. And that's assuming he even has multiple computers.
