Hello everyone, I am having troubles with this card. This is the first time I've installed a card on my own, and I really had no direction whatever to go off of. I am rather familiar with the terms, though, and made sure to get one that was compatible with my motherboard. In this case, the graphics interface is PCI Express x16. I was able to put it in just fine, or so I thought, with no trouble at all. I put it back together and came upstairs, plugged it all in, but instead of plugging the monitor into the usual slot, I plugged it into the video card, as that seemed the logical thing to do. As I expected somewhat, it said "No input detected" or something along those lines, so I thought I'd plug it back into the other slot and install the drivers from there. Unfortunately, as soon as it comes on, I get the "Windows has recovered from a serious error." message (I'm on Windows XP SP3 32-bit for future reference) and when I try to install the drivers, it says that the hardware is not found.

So, does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix my issue? I may have someone to assist me soon, but I figured I would post here for extra support, or my only support if he does not know what to do. Thanks in advance.

I have not. Should I? If so, how would I go about doing that?

I already did all of the installation inside the computer. The problem is, when I plug the monitor into my video card, it doesn't detect it on the monitor, and installing the drivers when it's plugged into the other area doesn't work either, as I expected, because it doesn't detect the card.

I changed the video link, I picked the wrong one.

Be sure that you disable the integrated graphics and be sure that your computer recognizes the new hardware

Its more then likely confused as the Bios has not been changed. its usually one of the F buttons before it posts to get into bios and it usually says on the splash screen what key it is.

Probably you need to change the motherboard's BIOS settings to use the PCI E card instead of the on-board graphics.
