i need help with my hard drive

im trying to setup my computer with  windows xp and when i go set it up it says hard drive is not connected and u cannot continue what should i do now

There's not enough information to determine what your problem is. 1) Check the cabling and jumper setting on the hard drive. 2) Make sure it's recognized in Bios setup

when i go to bios setup what do i check under to see its recognized and where is the setting on the hard drive
