i need some help upgrading

Hi everyone and thanks for taking the time to read my topic. I recently did a post of my computer (as of now). I

ntel Pentium D @3.2 (each core)

2GB Ram 533MHz

Nvidia Geforce 8500GT

Windows Vista Home Premium

Now, i was thinking of upgrading my graphics card, i chose two cards.

DON'T BUY THE 8600GTS!

If you can afford the extra $60-100 definitely go with the 512MB 8800GT. The performance/price ratio is way higher than any other card on the market. You'll see a huge difference between the 8800GT and the 8600GT/GTS for a relatively small price difference. If you can afford it you can't lose with the 8800GT. In case you haven't seen the benchmarks for the 8800GT yet, it performs above the 8800GTS with overclocked models performing very close to the 8800GTX for aroud half the price of the GTX.

Even if you don't want to fork over the extra money now for a 512MB 8800GT I beg of you to wait a couple of weeks for the release of the 256MB 8800GT which should be around $200 (if not a bit cheaper). You won't be dissapointed by the performance of the 8800GT, and I'd hate to see you shortchange yourself in performance by getting a 8600GTS now and missing out on the 8800GT. It's just that much better than the 8600.
