Get Scratches and White Day (This one's free :D ). Those ones scared me much more than Amnesia or Nightmare House 2.
Also, if you have a PS3 then get Siren: New Translation, it's the most terrifying thing I've ever played this gen (Or any generation).

The Penumbra trilogy is basically the same as Amnesia, both developed by the same company, and both are great.
After that there's Sanitarium, which is the best psychological-horror adventure game ever created.

Terrifying as hell games:
Condemned: Criminal Origins
Penumbra series (Overture, Black Plague then Requiem in order of canon and how you should play them)
Silent Hill 2/3 (not on Steam though, sadly)
Slender
The Suffering (and it's sequel, Ties That Bind)
The Thing
Not quite as scary, but thrilling and fun in other ways:
Alan Wake
Dead Space
Dark Souls (scary more due to the creepy locations and penalty for death)
Bioshock (like Dead Space, it isn't outright terrifying, but has an oppressive atmosphere and some terrifying moments)
Cryostasis
FEAR (first was the only truly scary one I'd say)
Manhunt
Metro 2033
Penumbra Overture and Black Plague
Call of Cthulu: Dark Corners of the Earth
all of those are great horror games with some similarities to Amnesia
I got a new upcoming game and it somewhat is terryfying. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/budleiser/web-and-ios-game-twin-stick-shooter-tower-defenseJAGS2012
Yes I'm sure this is a legitimate horror game and not some attempt at advertising by a new user. Budweiser twin stick shooter tower defense for ios sounds exactly like a horror game that fits for this thread, in the PC and Mac games board/
Don't bother with Slender. It's overrated in terms of how scary it is.
I'm also going to advocate F.E.A.R. since it relies on sound a great deal more than most 'scary' games. Visuals and monsters aren't everything.
Try SlenderSweetbackhair
If trees and boredom scare you, then yes, try this.
But seriously, try SCP: Containment Breach.
There are plenty of good Half-Life horror mods, like Cry of Fear. You could try some of those.Title says it all.

You say Slender is boring, then list SCP Containment Breach?
I mean, it has good ideas, but it is so unfinished and underwhelming its just not worth playing until the developers actually take the concept somewhere. Still, the concepts are really cool.
