You should like it, it's a good game regardless of what you like. You'll probably struggle though, a lot. DA isn't my first RPG, but it is my first RPG of the type and it's kicking my ass.

Dragon Age 2? I dunno, it may be difficult to enjoy an RPG that doesn't exist at the moment.

considering that dragon age 2 isnt even out yet... im pretty sure this thread is pointless. if you are referring to dragon age origins however... i dont see how anyone could NOT enjoy that game.

You will certainly enjoy it,but it may take you some time to assimilate the game´s mechanics(since you never played a bioware RPG before),and be warned that the PC version is the hardest of them all(a good thing for an enthusiast like me,not so good for unexperienced gamers in this genre).

It all comes down in what you want in a game. This one delivers a great story(with 6 diferent storyes at the first hour or so depending of race and class selection),multiple endings, non linear gameplay(not like The elder scrools or Gothic games, but non linear enough)great characters to interact and so much more...

All in all,it´s a worthy purchase.

Edit:I assume you mean DA Origins, and DA2 was a typo.

Its hard to say whether or not you will like Dragon Age Origins (which is the game I am thinking you are referring too).

The skill sets in Dragon Age are not that extensive. That is the major problem I had in the game. This leads to the lack of expansive customization. This lack leads to a shallow feeling in gameplay.

These are my own opinions on the game. I did not like the game, and still wonder why this game received so many great scores.

Why is there always people that have to comment on mistakes.... especially when you know what they meant by the mistake. Unless you lack the ability to figure out what he meant was drangon age 1 not 2.

So to get this thing back on topic...

Without having a clue as to what genre and style of games you prefer, I'd say no. While it is by no means a complex RPG, it's something new to someone who say has played nothing but shooters their gaming life and might be a bit tough to grasp and enjoy. If you want, even though it's like comparing apples and oranges, grab Mass Effect. It's cheap, decent, short (Compared to most Bioware games), it'll introduce you to the Bioware style and the genre, and will be a cheaper indicator on weather or not you like this type of game. If you like Mass Effect more then likely you'll enjoy Bioware as the basic premise is the same, the leveling, character, and combat aspects being different in certain ways, for the better in my opinion.
