from what I've heard WAR falls on it's face when you drift away from PVP.

is it pretty much like AoC in terms of leaning way towards PvP?xkojimax
Actualy i find WAR much more pvp based then AoC, AoC had a few keep seiges and ect at the high end cept with WaR at lvl11 there is already keeps to takeover, u can pvp from lvl1 on in war and almost exclusivly pvp (u would miss a lot of the game thou). For example in WAR there is no raids, just 6 man dungeons (not instanced btw) even AoC had raids (buggy as they were).
and for the OP. im primarly a pve person, but the pvp in war is fun so far and the pve is fun with decent quests, fun dungeons and the PQ's are great - the majority of my pvp in war has been the scenarios (much like battlegrounds in wow) - but with pvp levels and getting money/regular exp in the scenarios makes it have value unlike WoW which was just for honor.
While it is heavily PVP based, the PVE quests are still pretty good, I'm playing a Greenskin Shaman, and some of the quests are actually pretty funny :P.
And public quests (which are pretty much huge PVE quests that you can instantly join into) are a tonne of fun, and a way to group together with other people quickly,
Also, depends on what you didn't like about WoW's PvP. If you just didn't like the PvP servers in WoW and getting ganked, well you don't really have to worry about that so much in WAR to the best of my knowledge, unless you play on Open RvR servers. But there aren't many open RvR servers, at least compared to Core. That's what most people play is the Core ruleset.
You get Reknown levels for PvP and RvR. Sort of like Honor in WoW, but I'm not sure if there is as much of a grind or not.
That being said, if it's the instancing Raids you love in WoW, you most likely will not enjoy WAR as much.
I never really did PvP in WoW, but I do it all the time in Warhammer now. It is so much fun.
On the other hand, the PvE is still great, especially the Public Quests where you can just wander into the area where the quest takes place and start contributing, with or without a group. If you want to do it solo, you'll still be contributing to the whole quest. If you want to do it as a group, pull up the group menu and you can add yourself to a an open group. Yes, you heard me, you don't have to wait for an invite, you just invite yourself.
At the end of the quest, everyone is ranked by their contribution and /rolls are automatically cast for all involved which determines who gets the loot (usually the top 4). If you lose out the first time, try it again and you will get a bonus to your next roll for persistence.
If you don't like that idea, there are also the regular individual quests, but the difference is if you are told to gather X number of drops from a mob, then you kill only that number of mobs. You don't have to kill 40 wolves to get your 6 drops you need.
Even when playing PvE, you are still helping to contribute to the overall Realm vs Realm war that is going on serverwide.
Definitely a great game and worth a shot. If you are really on the fence though, I'd wait a few weeks to let some of the bugs and performance issues get ironed out, that way you will get a better view of the game itself without the inevitable opening month bugs.
